| I always remember around the time SL was announced as we played London away at the time (think it was in Barnet) and I was talking to fans down there who nearly all said they wanted London to win something to go up (Promotion) as it gave them a platform to build on, that never happened as they got propelled into SL based on location.
Since then London have always been in SL and I'd say save for a few years when Branson was around they haven't really kicked on.
When you read of gates of 1,500 I think its probably the same fans (with a handful more and better away support) that turned up at Crystal Palace sports stadium when 800 or so was on during Wintry Sunday afternoons.
I actually think this could be a chance for London to find its feet and play in a division of similar skilled clubs, its easy to knock the Londons, Salfords etc but getting up to watch a match largely knowing your going to get beat week in week out is hard to take (we've done it often enough even in the lower leagues !), maybe with a chance of winning things the same fans will come but they'll build a more solid support base rather than the boom & bust ones that have been before them.

| No wonder they are against it, the 1000, s of London fans won't be able to visit the LSV due to the total inaccessibility by rail.Well judging by the comments on the VT they and many other clowns seem to think this way!

| thank the lord that 'tennis snob' DICK Lewis has left the building.
why the hell did the RFL appoint him in the first place.
see he's been awarded a C.B.E. (Crettin Of The British Empire)

| Whatever the RL decide to do, you can guarantee it will be on as level a playing field as Batley's.

| I am with Ken Davey on two SL tens, both full time.
If it is 12 then the straight up/down is needed with equal distribution of funds which would be about 300k in our 12 and I would throw Toulouse straight into SL if they bring a French TV contract to cover themselves and Catalans, this then puts an extra £200k to every SL2 club and with £500k from central they should all then become FT with min standards on ground criteria and salary spends ie min £850k spend. This way the relegated clubs can build again.
One up for winning league and 1 from play off to include 2-5 from SL2 and 2nd bottom SL1, with bottom straight down.

| Quote mr. chairman="mr. chairman"Just got to get rid of the yo yo scenario, a club wanting SL status must go full time in championship to prepare for SL . How the hell can you go from part time to full time in 3 months its crazy . A well structured championship club full time will beat the likes of London and wakey thus showing the league they are ready and have a chance of surviving . If a club can't beat these teams what chance have they of surviving in SL . The yo yo system does not work and puts the the game in a bad light'"
You mean like 4 clubs going bust during licensing

I would expect that to be the case in most professional sports the clubs dropping down get a parachute payment.

| But that just starts the yo yo systems again though . The only way for it to work is all part time or full time can't see anything different otherwise i.e. London come down with whoever, more money to spend can stay full time outcome, they go back up again year after .
