This is a major step for the club to entice the best young players in the area to play for the club and one that should have the complete backing of not just the Clubs and RFL but the Government. I know that busineses have helped players in the past with work but apprenticeships are the way forward for all of us. I am an electrician by trade and cannot get my head around the fact that there are very few apprenticeships for brickies, plumbers, welders, joiners, mechanics. Jesus, when I was at Leigh Tech there was a whole massive area for apprentice mechanics.

It's something I'm keen to reignite in my company.

Had a few RL players working for us in recent years and while they require patience at times with time off due to training and match day commitments I've found generally they transfer the work ethics instilled in then on the RL pitch into hard graft at work.

Bit of Karma that job Keith we did the LV/HV fit out for Tesco and the Tesco and Stadium Lighting Packages but Cross Services from St Helens Under Cut us by 100k for the main stadium fit out work.

Five months later they went bump and we got a order to put the job right which Martin was foreman on...........

Plenty work about just tight margins Keith and lots of people willing to cut corners and costs.

Quality and reputation still our philosophy I'd like to think it is still appreciated.

As for talent coming through there are a couple of young forwards in the u20's who may make it but they are very young, they have a good coach in Ando but he is a little short of help these days, I fore one hope they replace Duffs very soon.
