I think it's a little more complicated with much of the merchandise sales being handled by the girls at Jitterbugz (and what a fine job they do). Again, I would think it might be something that will become more of a factor should a new website come to fruition, though I completely agree that isn't much of a reason to take the eye off the ball in terms of the current website.

I say to you, as something that obviously bothers you - be that somebody! Offer your services to search out a web designer with time on their hands, and get them on board. I'm sure Trevor, the board, the PSG, and all on here would be grateful of your positive input.
But, if you come on here, pointing out the shortcomings of the current set-up, and just ask the question why isn't something being done about it, then some people - myself included - might get the wrong impression, and think you were moaning!!

Have you contacted Trevor, or anyone from the PSG to ask questions/offer suggestions/support?.....or have you just come on here to point out the short-comings?

Sorry but you're missing the point - if we are having an all singing & dancing website constructed, great. For the record do I think it should be up & running by now, yes I do. In the interim though the club need to sort out what we currently have & bring it into the 2012 season, after all as a framework it exists already. Andy Parky is tasked with this ordinarily, so why should an additional body be required to sort this?

I think I can answer your question. A meeting with a web designer was held on Tuesday and it's my understanding that he's now gone away to design it. I don't know how long this will take, but steps are in place to 'employ' a number of people to run this new site and keep it updated (of course they won't be employed really as they will all be doing it for free).

I can't really answer for Andy but I don't think updating the website is his 'proper' job.

Neither do I but the concerns raised are correct having a new one is great but in the meantime the old one should still be up to date.

I'm not saying that I disagree with the sentiment of your post, but I feel it would be wrong of me to bemoan and belittle the current set-up, or those offering their services, unless I was doing it from a position of someone who had already 'got his hands dirty' for the cause.
I notice on our Kit suppliers web-site they are advertising the 2012 Widnes shirts, but the 2011 (and 2009!!) Leigh shirts!! Maybe O'neills could get involved in our web merchandising activities, as it serves both us and them to maximise our potential?

Wow, that's stirred things up! Where to start?

We WILL have a new, better website. We have a 'professional' with a strong RL background, who is designing it - free, as with so much else we have to do these days! Members of the PSG are putting in a lot of hours (believe me!) on improvements, including communications, where there HAVE been things done. Has anyone noticed them? We now have a member of the Board, who is committed to improving marketing and PR - much of it through communications. Unfortunately, some of these people on the PSG do have day jobs - which is frankly, inconvenient.

Five months ago, we didn't look like we were going to have a club, and new websites were the very last thing on our minds. So, we really do need to be patient. We are going to miss opportunities, while we address all the issues that are bouncing about. Having the odd person 'dissing' what is happening certainly doesn't help to motivate this individual to get things done.

=#FF0000However, I take the point about the current website. It SHOULD be updated, until we have a new one, ready to switch on. Maybe the problem is that, with the staff reductions at the club, the remaining staff are having to multi-task, often to the extent that their role also includes the proverbial one with the brush handle stuck up their a***e!

Meanwhile, I can only ask that you be patient and try to enjoy what IS good at the Club.
