Anyhow, I am personally sick to the back teeth of us being in such situations, but as always will forget very quickly and move on.

Thanks Ian for what you have created over the past 2 years or so and the best you could do now is to send the fans away ecstatic by coaching and motivating this fantastic set of players in providing us with a Grand Final win and the double. This season has been as enjoyable as ANY I can remember.

I honestly dont think you will ever be in such a situation again with any group of players or any club. Finish the job of and get us the Grand Final win.

By the way, the new appoinment is going to be extremely interesting with no backers apparently prepared to move the club forward for whatever reason. We can only appont someone who is to be considered a rising star. I hope one of Millwards goodbye presents is a recommended appointment. If he says you wont go far wrong with Tom, Dick or Harry, then I will go along with that. Deep down now I feel we will be starting next season from scratch with a squad and a coach on a shoestring and success will be avoiding the wooden spoon.

Lets enjoy whats left of this season and the roller coaster ride which is all part and parcel of being a Leyther.

Hardly surprising considering the state of the club and no P&R. But disapointed timing not good either with the playoffs. Oh well same old stuff at Leigh should be used to it after all these years.

Of course it's same old stuff when will folk get it into their heads we are a small club who are destined to produce talent for others, what were they supposed to do double his wages yet not be able to afford any players.

I'd rather it be common knowledge now rather than it announced the day after a potential Grand Final win, personally.

Personally I could weep to be honest. It's gonna take me a while to get over this. Millward has given me possibly my best ever season watching Leigh, he's the most approachable sportsperson I know and I will never have a bad word to say against him. Next game after tomorrow I'm gonna be in the stand with a big a3 sheet of paper with Thanks Ian written on it. Personally I wanna see Harrisson or maybe Harris, whether that happens or not, but all I will say. I won't give up on this club, next season I'll have a season ticket and I'll be there. It's what Ian will want. Ian won't want us to give up on the club and let it die.

A few people have already summed up how I feel about this news.

Gutted. Sick of being in this situation. Can't get my head around the fact that Cas fans don't want Millward, Leigh fans do and yet he leaves anyway.

When this news first broke to me last night, I thought, [i'I don't need this anymore'[/i. I'm fed up with being let down continuously. Millward (x2), Hill, Ellis, Higham & Donlan (not that I can blame any of these for wanting to better themselves). Financial worries. Our year in Super League & failing to kick on afterwards. Franchising & all the crap that's come with it & the that so called RL fans sling at Leigh on a regular basis on these forums (RL family my @r5e). Are we ever going to have our time? When we're not a stepping stone? When we can compete at the top on a level playing field? When we can dream about playing at Wembley or Old Trafford?

But then I thought of the damned good rugby we've had this year and in years gone by. The sheer jubilation on peoples faces at Blackpool & Widnes. The craic at many games home & away. Supporting Leigh has been difficult at times, but it's definitely had its moments that's made it all worthwhile. The people that attend the LSV and even Cup Finals prove that there is reason to stick at it. There are enough people that care enough about the club to show it's not a lost cause.

No doubt we'll all carry on regardless, but I do fear that this will be a particularly difficult setback to bounceback from. Especially given our current predicament.
