I bet there isn't much in it at all, Dave.
And New Madeley Park would sadly cost hundreds of thousands to bring up to the required standards as there aren't anywhere near enough seats or indeed facilities for directors etc etc. That, and we'd still be stuck with the LSV management.

I feel sorry for Leigh Genesis. I signed a petition supporting the building of the LSV on the basis of what was included in the plans; a shared stadium for local teams, Leigh Centurions and Leigh Genesis. I expected the LSV to be somewhere where after the match, I could have a night out at the cinema and then visit the bars and go for a meal at a restaurant. Not only were those facilities promised, but Wigan Council's archived webpage with the proposed facilities, says " extra bus services will be provided for fans on match days." EXTRA BUSES? Do you think that the Toone brigade are on a cut of the money that they generate at the LSV? If they are they should be out of the door and the contracts of futrue managers reviewed. On the same note where can you view the accounts for the LSV.

The stadium is a superb facility that puts many super league clubs facilities to shame. It's great that it's been built, but the way it's being managed is not what I expected.

I do not believe they are on a cut. but LSV have approx 24 employees,guesstimate salary £550,000. That takes some finding for a sports stadium that by its own admission can only take 40 fixtures per year. The rent for office space and tenancy agreements i would think/hope cover the utitilities and other running costs. Ivory towers need to fall and the original vision needs to be revisited. A community stadium with affordable/quality spectator facilities. opposed to a facility to be hired to the highest bidder. |
