I don't know what people were expecting. We were never going to win the game, infact I expected to lose by 30+ seeing the teams line up during the week. We'd lost the game within the first 10 mintues. The first half was very poor. Our defence through the middle was poor and also out wide.

Warrington will be a top 4 Super League side next season and had top quaility internationals throughout the team the closest in that respect we could get to that is Duffy and Nanyn playing for Scotland.

However, I was pleased with how we played in the second half, we acutally did look alot more dangourous when attacking than we did last season, with options and people backing up on the side (albeit Chris Hill in the first half when Paul made half a break).

In particular I was impressed with Chris Hill as always, Andy Ainscough looks abit of a prospect and Nicky Stanton should always start in place of Maden. Our long kicking game at times was poor, however Paul's short kicking game could see us score some points and get plenty repeat sets. My MOM though was Dave McConnell, when he came on he made things happen and caused Warrington some problems.

Thought we should have played a champ or champ 1 side for 1st outing but i for one saw some good rugby from our lads ,all our tries were good .

I know were you are coming from and i agree we should be playing teams at our level ie championship side's, thats why we should'nt read to much into this game. As the goons game goes i think by it just being Wigoon the crowd will be better hopefully anyway.

Stanton's I think was the last try we scored, if not it was Mort.

Mort was fine, was still looking for his ribs at Full time though. The penny try WAS off a forward pass btw.

We scored 3 good trys against a good wire squad. Some of the trys we gave away were soft & I don't know wot Donlan was thinking when he let the ball slip over his hands but it was lesson on wot not to do. It was always going to be hard & lets face it they didn't win the challenge cup for nowt. I think we would of taken something from this game & I feel we'll show wot we can do against some one more at our level in the NRC & smash Oldham all over the pitch.

That was a bit embarassing.
Didn't think you'd turned up until an hour in, then at times you played some okay stuff. Was it Leigh Easts who came out for the first half then you sent your proper team out in the second half??
On a serious note I think you look lightweight in the pack and Paul looked sharp. Didn't really see a lot else
