On the field we play some of the most exciting attacking rugby of any team (when we're allowed) and a club record breaking winning run has just unfortunately come to an end. Off the field we're one of the few clubs to be debt free playing at a world class stadium signing names like Moimoi, Hock & Higham.
It's quite difficult to respect other clubs who come to play a slow, dirty game then when Leigh give as good as they get try to act all innocent and like it's Leigh who are the dirty thugs. Funny isn't it how games only get dirty when Leigh are in front & so have nothing to gain from it, never happen against teams that want to just play rugby like Wakefield, Salford & London (London's captain actually went on twitter after their game at the LSV and complimented Leigh's style of play), never happens when the ref has control of the game by penalising the opposition for niggling and slowing it all down right from the start like at Haven. When confronted with these FACTS the outrage brigade never seem to have anything to say.
I doubt most Leythers are really fussed what people think of us, personally I've lost a lot of respect for The Championship. It used to be a great competition with great fans, it was the true rugby fans against the selfish greedy SL clubs. Remember cheering Fev on in their victory over Cas in the Challenge cup a few years ago. Now though the doors are open and there's actually a chance to progress and one club has shown how it can and should be done and the nonsensical hatred spouted about Leigh is laughable. Talk about SL to most Leythers and it's gotten to the stage we don't want promotion to play the best (well we do but the 1st thought is) we want it to play teams that want to play rugby, play on full sized pitches, have refs who keep control of the game and ensure a fast ruck speed (you know, all the stuff that'd seriously disadvantage a dirty niggley team like Leigh are supposed to be) and also to get into a league where fans have better things to do than to make up nonsensical rumours about our players & club.

I see you are in possession of a selective memory.....or have you just conveniently discounted the facts regarding the first match of the season. I assumed all Championship matches were going to be like that. Fortunately none of the other ones have been......so far.

Go on then, remind us who we played in that game and how many player our opponents had suspended following the game.

Bradford were equally culpable. Nobody Is denying that. The facts show Bulls were in the lead so it sort of counters the argument that teams dish it out when Leigh are in the lead.

Karl Harrison (isn't he with you, these days?) used to reckon that when we were way behind, we deliberately got our own players sent off, to give us some sort of advantage - I kid you not! Still trying to work out the benefits of playing with 11/12 men, when you are 20+ points behind!

Fair enough way back in that 1st game there was a fight when Leigh were behind, after a Bradford player decided he was going to punch McNally (I think it was) off the ball.

I presume you can remember what McNally had just done to Williams prior to the punch, and what happened immediately after when Williams was struck from behind......didn't the Leigh player suffer a broken hand for the cowardly punch ?
