Very interesting article by Derek, a good insight into his life. Glad to read that he's learnt from last time he was involve and isn't going to let the circumstances which lead to him leaving the club last time arise again. Also very good to read that there is a plan for when we get to SL, that the money being put in is an investment to get the club to a level in SL where it can be sustainable. We really are lucky to have him involved, hopefully if we make it to SL it'll inspire other business men from Halifax, Cumbria, Dewsbury or any other Championship club town to think "I could do that" and attract some more money to The Championship & improve standard of British Rugby League.

Disappointed with the Ryan's article several ways. Obviously disappointing a few idiots booing him, we're all disappointed when the team has a bad game but times however you feel by 10 and I'm sure it'll still come nowhere near how the players feel. Especially bad to boo before he's even come on the pitch at the next game! Also disappointed though that with all the good things going on at the club he's written two whole pages complaining about less than a hand full of "fans". It must be unpleasant but he must know that the vast majority of fans are behind him. Understand where he's coming from being frustrated with fans believing every bull s*** rumour about him though. It frustrates me at times. One or two Leeds/Wire/Salford/whoever this month's rubbish rumour is about go on a forum or facebook & say "Wouldn't mind us signing Brierley" and some people seem to interpret that as Ryan saying he's desperate to leave. Learnt a long time ago to ignore all the rubbish about him leaving, it always turns out to be rubbish.

I think if Ryan believes any sportsman has 100% fan support 100% of the time he is being naïve at best, in my time I have heard folk having a go at Woody, Murphy and Turley amongst others. The time to get concerned is when 2500 North standers turn on him and not the 25
Anyway new season and new start, so lets get behind 1-17 week in week out and trust they will react positively, like it was for most of the past 2 years

Not read the article but from what I can make out it seems to me young Ryan is being a bit thin skinned if he's complaining about a handful of boo boys when there's 2.5k plus cheering him to the rooftops every week.

Ryan's only human at the end of the day and seems an emotional and caring lad, too. If a section of "fans" gave him grief at the end of the Fax match in the 8's, then I understand if he feels almost hurt.

BUT, he needs to get over that quickly enough because all the best players focus on just one thing - and that's winning. If you let things get to you then your mind isn't properly on your job.

The incident will hopefully just be another learning curve for young Ryan. We've seen him do some wonderful things for Leigh and score a ridiculous amount of tries. The lad is class. He just needs to take that next step now towards his full potential. And part of that is dealing with off-the-pitch things better.

I must admit I have been critical in the past over certain players ,but I have NEVER booed any Leigh player's for their performances on field,young Ryan has given us Leythers so many magical memories over the past 3 years ,as well as making many personal appearances at Functions and Fans homes,to boo him is terrible
I personally think Rangi game play will suit Ryan down to the ground and should result in many trade mark Brierley dives over the coming season.Charlie knows.

Positions - no such thing as scrum half and stand off these days, and Rob Burrow has done a decent job at Leeds. I would go one hooker and use a bench spot to ensure all 4 are in the 17

The half backs are interchangeable but there's still only 2 of them. Question is then who do you leave out Bob or Micky? Can either of them do a full 80 & still play at their best?
