I'm with GLOW on this, I see a kick off as an opportunity , so to waste it seems just plain daft, I loved it when we had big Mick putting those curling kicks that bounced out
That goal line kick out was done by Henry Paul for Wigan I think
Innovation is great to see, I remember Basil's Saints doing the ' dummy run ' from acting half, who remembers Turley scoring straight from a kick from the scrum

20m restart. The thought to kick to touch should be in the mind of McNally, Ridyard, Brierley, Beswick all the time.
Since the rule was introduced I bet it's not been done more than 20 times.

Ridyard did it at Batley - that's the only one I remember. |

| I've oft thought - when in the opposition 20, that it is worth, occasionally, shoving in the scrum, against the head, to force an error!!
I assume this is still allowed??  |

You are allowed to push as soon as the ball enters the scrum. Given that the ball now gets fed straight to the LF it would have to be a hell of a push to either win the ball against the feed or force the error.

Doubt you’d win it but quite possibly force an error, or at the very least create a bit of panic in the opposition. |

Exactly my point - It'd nigh on impossible to hook the ball back against the head - but there is always the chance the man in the loose forward postion will knock on, so it's got to be worth a punt occasionally!!
It might involve going over that page in the Laws of the game with the match officials before KO....just so they know what's going on!! |

Strange you mention that but when I have watched Leigh play I think they have looked one of the best in the league at using dummy runners. Ive often said Fax should take a leaf out of their book. |
