| No problems at widnes we will be awsome next year in my view.things can only get better when u have the best support in the division and thriving shop god every 1 is walking round with widnes stuff on i havent seen this much gear even when we went up that widnes shop must be making what some clubs take at gates in this division.Good manegement.steve o should be given the key to widnes for the work hes done.Good luck staying up anyway i think you can only improve in every aspect now you got good stadia and getting a decent coach back would be a real lose if we wernt to be playing u next season.Only plus side would be is that you would hammer that division 1 and come back stronger.  |

This is a simple exercise in re-structuring the squad.. nothing more and nothing less. Every player has a value placed against them in terms of ability and necessity to the side...
This statement (if true) will have come from a player deemed, decent but not vital to the side and I can think of a number of players that this would apply to.
There is a decent spine at the club but there is no doubting that changes are needed to make us even more competitive next year whilst conforming to the new salary cap level. This player will fit into the bracket mentioned above who it would be hoped could be replaced with a player of equal or better ability.
The clubs aim is to actually improve our position by being more competitive and Cullen is also being given the chance to bring in his own players to some areas.

However, Widnes' stated objective is to occupy as many of those qualifying places as possible (i.e a Grand Final place, & NRC Winner) to reduce the number of other teams who can qualify to apply for a franchise, in competition with them. |

Yeah....that'll work
The best way to get into SL is either to win the GF or the Railway Mug, stay solvent (not sniff solvent JENKY) and get the youngsters in the area into the ground (free or otherwise). Posturing with threats of legal action will get you nothing as all applicants have to agree to accept the decisions made before they even apply. (kind of like a prenuptual before he finds out is she's any good in the sack and she finds out if he has any money).
Not saying it's right, just the way it is. |

The problem with that is they only accepted applications last time as long as you agreed NOT to take court action. I think everyone suspected then what was likely to happen. |
