| Mick Nanyn, a player we were laughing at and calling past it 3 years ago. Sums up our team and our ambition that now he looks like our best player

Did you see him shift after that kick of Watsons, hes rapid and we dont create any sort of overlap to give him a chance.

Would be good to see him chase a kick from base of scrum or just throw it out wide and get him in a gap!! (just don't let Donlan pass it based on that last pass )

| Seriously don't we practice basic ball handling skills or tackling techniques any more?
I thought Nanyn had a great first game, especially after being chucked on early and the score would have been dire without him!

| My glass is half full. A 6 and Donlan playing where he needs to be playing, with Nanyn in the centres and we will finish in the top 5.
We were never going to beat their pack with ours but thought we held our own.
Collectively I didnt think we were too bad. Individual errors and at least 2 50/50 decisions going against us at key times cost us that tonight.

well below the standard we need to make a impact in this Div
Armistead lumbers up like a player from the 60,s most of the forwards
are lightweight and cant break a tackle Donlan at 6 is poor Rudd second row never in a million years we are gonna have to sign some serious artillery for next season because with this team as it stands is to lightweight does,nt pack a punch in both forwards & backline
if we cant beat teams like Fev i give up defo this Leigh team at present is one of the worst in recent years I hope that Joe Williams guy arrives soon so that Donlan can get back on the wing
fair do's it wasnt convincing from either side........dont be so hard on ya selves.......as for 'if we cant beat teams like fev'?....whats all that about?

With the Championship being a very keenly contested league .I would n`t be surprised to find a team outside of the top 2 go on and
contest a GF.

| Tonights game reminded me of a 1975 ITV documentary of an under 18's amature RL team that was never made. Our defence was good at times good and absolutely rubbish at others. Madens attempt for their try was like a wet lettuce blowing in the wind. I have to say that some of the decisions were at the best, crap. How can you give a knock on when an opposition player kicks the ball when you haven't got it under control? How can you give a "ripping the ball out " when the attacking player clearly swings his arm tryting to get free before the tackle has been completed. Mr Hewer upstairs me thinks. There was a clear offside from a kick where they gained field position and scored from. Fev also had some crap decisions against them too. The decisions are becoming as mind boggling as clap and kick. In fact theirs are getting more clear to understand. As a TV specticle games like tonights will do our game more harm than good.
Going back to us. We were clueless in attack. Average in defence. The only highlight tonight was Morrisons try. The long passes with no one runnig onto the ball will get spotted by Easts under 11's. Someone please tell me we are better than this. Please. Oh and one more thing. Get this playing for penaties ( at the play of the ball) mentality booted out of our club and concentrate on playing the bloody game.
Come on you Leeeeeeeigh

| Thought we played really poor tonight. I'd say:
didnt play as a team
poor decisions - taking the two at 6-6 when we should have put pressure on them with just being short of their line
two poor attempts to win a penalty by Stewart and Watson - shameful
bad passes - donlans late on that was way forward - nanyns pass into touch, way in front of the man
poor attempts at tackling - far too high - watson for one try, maden for another.
not clampingthe ball in the tackle - the last try for fev
not supporting the ball carrier
lack of options going forward - we lack creativity and class.
not enough off loads
not running the ball in an pace - bar wingfield and nanyn for his try.
I wouldnt say it was a lack of effort - just simply a lack of quality - we need the aussie to arrive and an experienced prop to lead from the front.

| i'd rather just concentrate on how we played - that's what bothers me and that is what will affect our final league position.
Stewart played for the pen 20 metres from our line - at a push it was 50:50 for a penalty - ot went against us and put us under pressure.
the watson one cost us a try - the player was all over him, then when he got up, watson played for the penalty and lost the ball - they scored
I just fear for us again - if we dont improve - not mainly by winning games but playing exciting watchable rugby - the crowds are already dying off...i'd give anything for the terzis/millward years when you got value for money - and the rugby paid dividends with some big crowds.

| Poor standard of rugby.
Watson's positional kicking was great, but his tackling awful - he was targeted. Morrison, 3 bad mistakes in first ten minutes then scores a try after terrible Fev defence .Nanyn, our only attacking threat.
After two weeks off we can only play one-up rugby for first 60 mins - why? Thought Rowley was going to get us playing adventurous? Unfortunately, our ball skill levels are low - lower than I've seen for a long time.
At 24-24 we have five tackles to drive into the posts for a drop and then throw a stupid pass. Schoolboy error or what.
We wanted it more, but lack of brains, skill and firepower cost us a game that we could have nicked.
