Quote: reffy "................... and you are totally missing the point, you can't keep hiding the team's behaviour behind the failings of referees. I agree the ref was dire now you admit that there is a problem with attitude/discipline.'"

The question? is Reffy is it Leigh has a team or individuals. The "all in" I don't have a problem with, but is it the same individuals who keep creating the "all in".. That for me is what needs addressing.

Quote: Greg Florimos Boots "Both times against Halifax when players ended up getting carded and Leigh had the ball the penalties went to Fax. On both occasions it came from Leigh players taking heavy tackles and losing their tempers. Armstrong took a heavy tackle from Saltonstall and Haggerty took a heavy tackle from Calahane both of which are clearly fair tackles, both players then lost their rag.'"

Well you are right I have just rewatched the second half on Centurion TV.

The Haggerty incident starts at 1 hour 30mins on the video.

Re the Armstrong incident I don't think his head connected with the Fax player although he pretended it did. ie the Fax player pretended it did.

You are correct Atomic, it is the same players but surprisingly the culprits aren't in the pack. At the end of the day I think the forwards respect each other even if they do a give and take a smack. It is mainly the backs, some of whom take it as an insult that a lesser being has tackled them. icon_biggrin.gif

Watch it carefully, there is no gouge.

Woody does have an injury consistent with being gouged though.

icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif There is absolutely no reason to have your hand in such a deliberate position as Mr Wood did unless you are trying to hurt someone. Fev fans have done a brilliant job at deflecting attention from their thuggery. The guilty always shout loudest.

Probably the only time the ref actually got something right.Hope he is dealt with accordingly by the RFL.

Quote: ant7t2 "Come on, GFB. Seriously?

I will look at the incidents again later, but are you trying to tell us that routine, fair, hard tackles were the main reason behind such commotions?

EDIT

Ive watched the video too and I dont see too much niggle in those two tackles. Now im not saying it didnt go on before that because it did by both teams but those two incidents I didnt think there was much in it to be honest. Ive already mentioned that Armstrong had lost his head after having a very poor game and getting dominated by Heaton which of course does not happen very often to him. Haggerty Im not sure because the way that Calahane tackles him I cant see how he can niggle in that tackle and again I think he reacts to a hard tackle and the problem in that one was it ignited everyone. If players drag them apart and dont get involved then Im certain Haggerty would have walked and Calahane would probably have got a token yellow card for been punched but involved the incident which is what the disciplinary panel saw as well.

But the disciplinary panel didn't see it the same way as you put it for Armstrong! Did they!

Summary of CM's submissions on the appropriate sanction.....Head butt upper chest area of opponent-light contact-concede may have been some provocation.

Summary of Player's submissions on the appropriate sanction.....Good record. Not a malicious player.

Reasons for Decision...In deciding the appropriate sanction the tribunal accept this is not the more serious of head butts .Contact was not significant but was made with opponent. In deciding the appropriate sanction the tribunal take into account the player’s good previous record and in this instance feel that a 1 match suspension and £100 fine are appropriate.

Fails to mention that Saltonstall gave Armstrong a wink,as he knew he had just sold him a red GFB..

Sorry, I was talking about the Haggerty incident when i mentioned the Disciplinary panel although saying there may have been some provocation is quite ambiguous.
