so if anone from the club had said 'Thats it folks we are going down' they would have been accused of defeatism, some you lose some you cant win, or is it dammned if you do and damned if you dont?

The club shouldnt spend a minute of time or a penny trying to boost gates of our competitors, indeed we should encourage fans not to go away and donate the money to the club instead. Remember it does nothing for Leighs SL bid to take 800 to Blackpool.

I wasn't suggesting don't try to get home supporters in but people were moaning not long ago that we should have been putting the free coaches like gateshead on all year

More the comments at the LISA meeting with 7/8 games to go when it was plain to see we were still showing relegation form but the clubs below us were starting to show top 3 form

Now I know as well as you that sometimes what is said in private is different to what you say in public , however to dismiss the possibility of us being in a relegation fight was a mistake at that time in my opinion and in fact looked a touch arrogant

Wether that had any bearing on our eventual finishing position is a ' mute point ' now

or even a moot point

Must admit I don't think they needed to say anything, the signing of players though did probably say 'we are staying up' to many , even though the displays on the pitch said 'we are going down'

On a seperate theme am I the only one looking forward to next season visiting some grounds we havn't been in for ages (or what seems like ages ! !)
