would like to keep him. up to coach to find the key. he done well up to Swinton and 7 games was well ott by any comparison. he had those games to build his frustration up to a high pressure game someone should have been looking to relieve the pressure
he was done by the ref in the stand and thats another issue for me. the 2nd half sat ko 1604 still playin at 1655
why cant we have a game clock think we had one in east stand previous
sorry to wander cannot condone action by acton but we need to harness and channel not dispose'"
It's not upto the coach at all. It's upto the individual. Actons not a kid. He has to take responsibility for his own decisions.
We've got plenty of hard men in our team - Hansen, Maitua, Weston, Fui to name a few. Do any of these go round putting cheap shots on a player with his back to them?
The bottom line is, we were lucky the ref didn't see the incident on Saturday. We would've been down to 12 men and almost certainly 2 points worse off than we are. We can't afford the risk with him, certainly for the rest of this season

| Acton is in need of what we called in the Forces, some serious attitude readjustment .....
I think everyone knows my opinion on how good I think he can be, but for now he sits the season out, not much choice anyway & goes out on loan to Oldham or Batley or somewhere next season, only this way will he learn that every action has a reaction & therefore consequences.
I really do wish he would just wise up & knuckle down to some clean, hard RL.
With regard to the ban, I can't help but agree with others that Acton's punishment is not in line with the [iNon Punishment [/i of Soward the Coward for what seems to be exactly the same offence. OK, take into account Acton's 'previous' but if Acton gets 4 then surely Cowardly gets at least 2 ?
Compare like for like offences between SL & Championship players though & the disparity is clear to see & this is partly why there is no confidence in the RFL & it's systems, no consistency & no transparency [iNOT FIT FOR PURPOSE[/i

| 7 game ban for 'joining in a fight' and because he's 'quite handy' he leathered some poor Swinton bugger, like Worthington v Soward, got penalised for 'winning the fight' !
Jamie Peacock v Leigh in the Challenge Cup 2 years ago, threw lots of punches, most connected.....sin bin sufficient !
There is no way Acton's challenge v Salford was a 4 game ban, maybe he should have done a Danny Brough, and grabbed Flanagan, turned him on his back, then smashed his elbow in his face...might have only got a 2 or 3 games. Seriously this RFL disciplinary lot need sorting out......some of their punishments ( or lack of) just don't add up.
As for Jamie, If I was Neil Jukes, I would tell him that he has next season to 'cut out the crap' or you will be out of work.

The hit from Acton on Flanagan isn't seen on SKY.Not seen by match officials and probably not see by most of the crowd, yet Monday's review panel see it.Yet Mondays review panel the week before missed it.
What people see differs...Unless you already know what your looking for.

How many times have we played Salford? Do you actually watch Leigh? your postings suggest not.

| For what it's worth, I was in Salford yesterday evening and enjoyed a quart or two with my old mate,
Pete. He's a Salford fan through and through but, as well as giving generous congratulations and saying what a fantastic advert the match had been for the sport in general, asked "What's all this nonsense about FOUR games for your lad?"
Guess we'll never know unless the transcript of the disciplinary were to be released.

My point being they plucked Acton from the video evidence without being made aware of the offence, yet the week before they ignore what Soward did.
Believe Rugby League World have gone behind the scenes on this weeks Match Review Panel and Disciplinary Tribunal.Due out on the 26th August.
Should make an interesting read.

| The punishment does not fit the 'crime'! I have just watched the Sky recording of the match, eagerly awaiting the incident and, I didnt see it and boy, have I watched Leigh!! Any TV veiwer will be wondering how any player from that match has copped a four match ban!!
Someone ought to give Jaime Acton Solicitor Nick Freeman's (Mr Loophole) contact details and get down to Red Hall ! I'm more b@@@@y outraged than I was before
We have seen the likes of Adrian Morley almost decapitate opponents for club and, country! did his clubs/country cast him aside ? No he finnished up becoming highly respected around the world
Ryan Bailey, winner of numerous Grand Final medals and Challenge Cup finals and, on Saturday he'll likley run out at Wembley for Warrington, sadly, I'll be there to see it
Rugby League is a tough contact sport played by tough men (and Ladies) Some of the shocking incidents i've seen I still remember even though they happened over forty years ago, Keith Hepworths vile assault with his elbow on Colin Tyrers jaw during the 1969 CCF at Wembley, Hepworth wasn't sent off and he wasn't discarded by Castleford or, Great Britain!!
Jim Mills, that famous after dinner Speaker commited the most sickening act I've ever seen on a Rugby field, his Kiwi opponent Greengrass was lay on his back on the floor when Mills, looked him in the eye and stamped down of his face dont forget in those days rugby boots had Aluminium Studs!!
What's the relevance of these example's ? well apart from my memories, I've not seen Jaime Acton commit anything like them but, he is receiving the punnishments these people did!
Watching that Salford game, I thought Salfords last try was a forward pass? and the one Lu scored certainly was! Did anyone spot Murdock Masili push Hansen out the way with his knee? (Haggerty two games against Wakey on Lee Smith) What's the Panel said to Lu after his shot on Gregg Mc? dont forget the intent was there or, was it

| Acton has received a ban, Leigh play Featherstone on Sunday without him. It is time we moved on and concentrated on more important things than the crime and punishment of a liability.

| Quote: frank1 "Jamie made a foolish error on Saturday and he knows it.
The idea of sending him out on loan next season is daft imo. People learn from their mistakes imo too.
He will come back anxious to show that and' don't forget' when he just plays the game as he should he is a very good forward.'"
This is Jamie's problem Frank
He isn't learning.
How many more instances does Jamie, or the club need to finally realise enough is enough

When working down South more than a few years ago I often turned out for pub or place of work teams that played the code that must not be named and i became au fait with the rules both at that humble level and the international one. Refs and the powers that be knew that, in a full on contact sport, fights are likely to occur. There were warnings for the first two combatants but the third man in (aggressively rather than as peacemaker) was sent off. I don't know if this rule still applies but it sheds light on the bigger ban. I don't recall any supporting acts in the Peacock fight and there's the point.
