| Own worst enemy there. Summed up by us throwing it about and losing it after the ref had very generously decided to give us a penalty and wave 6 again.
Salford did what they do, score in quick succession and take the game away from us and we could never get back.
I like Reynolds, he has got better but if he can't convert from the touchlines then unless Mellor is not fit, why play him instead? Again that was summed up as he was about to take his penultimate conversion attempt and Inu ran past...if only.
Holmes is yet to impress, though I think he had a better second half. The whole team did.
And Josh proved not only is he as fast and strong as ever but his rugby brain is kicking on too.
We need to recruit well in the next window.
Still, O'Brien back next week a more settled team and hopefully we will turn over Wakefield.

Some real dumb rugby there, both in attack and defence
Holmes’s does a job for me, 80 mins today believe - if your going to single anybody out go for Hughes, just throwing money down the drain with him
Mellor gotta be given a chance if fit, and Smith (remember him) is a good foil for ipape who finally showed in offence what he’s capable of but can’t do 70 mins like that week in week out
Should have won that, with pretty much 14 men - O’Brien will be a massive plus if fit, Hardaker played well today but doesn’t give that option in attack

| I've said it before as have others, the problem is the small squad with no quality in depth. More quality signings needed if any come up. Looking on the bright side, Wakey, Hull and Cas are struggling. With our best 17 we are very capable of winning the next 3 games. Are Wardle and Mellor out injured?

| Wardle yes (ask VL for an update), dunno about Mellor.
Yes, we should (should) beat Wakey but then it's another 5 day turnaround before Leeds. We all saw how Leigh faded later on against Wigan the last time.
Today Leigh ran out of time against an increasingly jaded Salford side after their shorter turnaround.

| Keep the faith we are not far off need to play with more smarts think Mellor next to Lam will help. Poss need to loan a prop if Ben out for a few weeks and or a second row as missing Wardle. Need Zac in centre. As chances missed on the right. Hopefully O’Brien back for Wakefield saw him at game and he looked fine. Wakey a must win.

Well it’s more of a must win for Wakey than it is for us that’s for sure - they are already 4 wins off passing us, they lose this and I reckon we are pretty much beyond them, also we deffo have more wins in us

The further we can get away from Wakey, the sooner we can sought our recruitment for next season.

Totally agree, and like I say a win would put us pretty much out of their reach.
Would imagine Chester is already putting plenty of feelers out - hopefully come mid may we are in a position to offer contracts

| Wakey will find the above conversation both odd and galling. They still bemoan Chris Chester's recruitment whilst with them but he won 40% of his games in charge of Wakefield; a Win %age that, repeated this season so far, would have seen them presently above Cas & FC and level on points with Leigh (plus Leeds & Hudds). Instead they languish winless after eight games, four points adrift of the peloton.
Since their opening round reasonable home showing against Cats, Wakey have been nilled four times, amassing only 23 points in the seven games - less than 3.3 points per mismatch - and conceded 196 in the process (average 2icon_cool.gif.
In the corresponding seven Leigh games, The Leopards (W3, L4) have averaged 18.3 points scored per match whilst conceding a norm of just over 22pts.
Wakey though have run Salford closer this season than have Leigh.
It's not a given, despite being a gimme.
GIMME!

| A good strong start is essential, score a couple early and hopefully there heads drop and confidence also. Hopefully O’Brien fit and also Mellor.

| Small percentage improvement across the park and we will be turning these games into wins, and considering the squad size and the time spent together it’s pretty remarkable.
We are being far too nice around the ruck and allowing our opponents play the ball quick, whereas we are simply rolling away when we are in defensive. Address this along with the obvious of half back/hooker/centre/second row and we “should” be in a comfortable position

| Mellor in for me against wakey I really feel we need to go for the kill on this one nothing against Ben but extra attacking options are needed , with o Brian hopefully fit and Zak at centre the attack will flow ( I do prefer Zak as a full back but sad to say chamberlain isn't coping at this level at the minute). Also I would like to see Edwin come on at the half hour mark that would take up to twenty tackles off his workload ,that extra juice in the tank could really damage Wakefield s defence .

| Well I’ve just watched Salford Wakey game, and I wish Salford played that badly against us as we would have beaten them. Rowley said they were knackered as our game took a lot out of them. A good win tomorrow is a must.

When did Salford play Wakey?
