He never wanted to leave. He was part of the 2016 SL promotion winning squad and loved it at Leigh despite his lady suffering from home sickness. He told the club he would stay another 12 months in the Championship to help get us back to SL.

Cunningham didn't rate him however and told him him his services were no longer required.

Nothing mind-boggling. I would have loved to see him at Leigh, because he's a class player, but the lad has shown commendable loyalty to Widnes. I applaud that.

He's a Widnes lad through and through. Its refreshing to see a player showing such loyalty. A player who has come up through the ranks. That's the problem at Leigh and many other clubs, their inability, due to finances, to run a youth development pathway. In the long run, it's how a club builds its team spirit and culture.
