All it means is the sorting office your letters go to. Nothing to do with what town you're in, what local authority or what council. As said Lowton is (unfortunately) in w!g@n Metropolitan Borough Council which is part of the administrative county of Greater Manchester and the historic county of Lancashire, however the post code is WA3 which stands for Warrington (administrative county of Cheshire) 3 sorting office which is Earlstown (administrative county of Merseyside). As you can see it's completely meaningless (otherwise Lowton would be in about 5 different places!) for anything other than where the Royal Mail are going to send your letters. |

Ahh, but WA3 4-9 is the posh part !!! LOL !!!
Actually, as the person who is responsible for the processing of all your items, WA3 is one of the largest P/Code areas in the country and the only code for which is covered by 2 delivery offices due to its span (Birchwood and NLW)
Lowton / Golborne/ Lowton / Culcheth, Glazebury, Rixton, Hollins Green / Glazebrook / Croft / Risley and Birchwood are all WA3, but the concept of the email is quite correct, P/Codes have nothing to do with Towns, it is simply a way of us circulating and processing your post !! (AND getting cheaper insurance !! LOL)  |
