Cap is £1million (if you can back it up with a deposit to the RFL (or something like that)). Penky has suffered a long term injury, needs an operation & Foster is only young. We normally play a 2 hooker game with Beswick & Penky, tried giving Foster a go when Penky was injured but though impressive still needs to bulk up a bit, this is why we needed Higham now rather than waiting till the end of the season.
Very good signing, top quality player who'll bring a lot of experience and knowledge of the way the Super League teams we'll be facing in the Qualifiers S8 & hopefully SL next season play, which could prove invaluable. |

Ah right okay, so most clubs in the Championship don't spend near the cap then? It seemed odd that you could already be comfortably superior, then add Gareth Hock and Micky Higham, but makes sense if the rest aren't spending to the cap.
Quiz question, how much did Saints pay Leigh for him back in 2000/2001? I know Bradford paid us £70,000 for him. He's probably in the top 10 'most spent on' players after this move. |

The cap has gone from 400k last year to 1m this year. We've kept mostly the same squad with a few added and a few lost but even with going Full Time and a couple of 'big' signings we had a lot of room for improvement due the cap more than doubling. Crowds have roughly doubled over the past 2 years too which has helped us financially. |

Welcome home Mickey Higham. To the posters saying he won`t be playing in he 1/4 final , why?. He`s not cup tied as he did n`t play against Dewsbury.

Warrington's statement says it's written into the agreement. Not a problem, as the CC isn't our priority this season, and unlike the Hock circus this is an agreement that the club was involved in.

| We are aiming for Super League and hoping to finish ahead of SL teams in the middle 8's. This season is going brilliant so far but with Penky out for who knows how long and young Foster only having a handful of 1st team games under his belt I did feel we were just one unfortunate injury to Bob Beswick away from the season going completely off the rails. This allows us to go back to rotating our hookers, gives cover to Beswick and allows us to ease Foster in as we see fit rather than throwing him in at the deep end.
Higham is a quality player and in the exact position we needed. Plus he's yet another Leyther to add to the squad. Great signing |

Afternoon Charlie - Doing fine on GGs thanks - I write a column each day on the net (profitable but you have to use Betfair) but leave the big Handicaps to you & others. Each way in a Maiden generally in a Double is far the best way to go matey.
