A very sad day today hearing of Franks passing. I've known Frank for over 50 years, and he will be very much missed. A true Leyther who followed Leigh rugby all his life.My condolences and thoughts are with his family and all his friends at this sad time. R.I.P. Frank.

I am very sad, I never had the pleasure of meeting Frank but communicated with him often on here. He was a reet gent with passion for his team, courtesy to his fellows and appreciation to opponents. His wit and repartee will be missed.

Condolences to his family and friends, R.I.P. Frank.

Quote: Alan "I received the sad news this morning, that Frank had passed away.

That's yet another through-and-through Leyther who we have lost. Once upon a time, he was a regular contributor on this message board and his wit and knowledge were second to none. He supported his club, through thick and thin, despite being on 'a fixed income'! Has he been sick,do u no Alan not seen him for a long time only new him through chats in the George or in the north stand but was Leigh to the heart .
God bless & r.i.p frank

Such sad news. Spent many an hour with Frank over the years, chatting at home games, reserve games, travelling to away games together and often watching neutral games together, be they at Swinton, Salford, Halifax or wherever.

Frank has been in ill health for some time but was still managing to get to home games earlier in the season if not necessarily every game home and away as had always been the case in the past.

A real pleasure to have called him a friend and I’m sure hundreds will feel likewise. He will be sadly missed.

I didn't really know Frank but felt I had a sense of him and his humour from here and the facebook page. Condolences to his family and friends - the fact he'll be missed by people who he didn't really know is a testimony of sorts.

Hope he is having a glass of red and the constraints of the fixed income have evaporated.

God bless, Frank.

Had many a good debate, and quite a few laughs with Frank in the North stand, a genuine fella who always had time to chat with you. Leigh Centurions through and through.

God bless Frank xx

I only met him a few times when played Widnes. Met up with Ian, him and Henry. I am sure him and Henry will be up there together having a pint.

Frank used to come all the wAy from Salford most Tuesdays a few years back to play poker at the Centurion to raise money for LISA

He'd go all in when his bus was due and got lucky a lot and ended up with the last bus many times

I was very sad to hear this news yesterday
We'll miss you Frank

Really sad news about Frank. Only got to know him personally about 3 years ago, He was a really knowledgeable bloke with a good sense of humour and witty with it. There will be more than a somber atmosphere in the George today. RIP Frank.

This is terribly sad news. I heard he had only recently moved back to Leigh as well.

I saw him at the majority of Leigh games home and away, but I chatted to him most in the George whilst he enjoyed a glass of Red. Frank had the ability to brighten up your mood, just by being in his presence. He had a truly great sense of humour. We would talk passionately about our great Leigh RL club until Frank would say he was bored now and rush for his bus back to the 'posh part of Salford' , promising me a bitter on his next visit. Only a Gil mind as he was on a fixed income you know.

I did once , many a year ago find myself on a quite extraordinary flight home from France with Frank after a Leigh match, that will live long in the memory, it really will.

A true charachter and as passionate a Leigh RL fan you could ever meet. RIP Frank. You will be sadly missed by many.

Thoughts are with all Franks family and friends.

Another great character gone. I've known Frank for a fair few years now and his dry humour always gave me and Diane a good laugh. We'll raise a glass to him before today's game in't Victorian.
