| I think both teams have big names missing but for Leigh we have also got to play against a club from a higher division and the week to week intensity that brings so our missing players will be felt.
That said if we play to our game and our strengths we can really get at Salford and if Brierley and Ridyard get the ball the pace that Ryan has can unlock any defence in any league.
Should be a cracker but for me Leigh 20 Salford 16.

| I have to agree with the intensity point. Salford big clashes every week. Leigh just don't experience that in Champ.
If Leigh can stay in the match then they'll have a chance, what with home advantage and the team spirit they've built etc. And, yep, if Ridy and Ryan can get on top then, again, we'll have a great chance.
Can't wait.

| Penky & FFMM are massive losses to our team for this clash.
Penky brings so much to our attack & I feel we lose some attacking guile without him.
Becoming more pessimistic about the result now, originally felt it would be a 2 try margin of 8 to 12 points (conversions) but feeling like it could go something like 16 - 30/34 by F.T

| It's certainly going to be an interesting game and, interestingly, I think the pressure is actually on Leigh for this one.
When I say 'pressure' I'm referring to things such as your Club wanting to test itself against SL opposition. On your own patch. They'll feel the need to perform in front of the cameras with the rest of the RL public certainly tuning in more to see if Leigh are up to competing and cause an upset than anything else. Most of RL are quite happy to see Salford fall at any point, mostly because we have a gobby Chairman, so we're used to derision and not really being the focus of this encounter.
I think your forwards will need to be top notch on Saturday. Not because of our forwards particularly, more for the fact that if your line's broken Salford have serious pace in broken play. Evalds, BJB, Johnson, Caton-Brown, Locke, and even Fages are among some of the fastest guys in the game. You defend well you give yourself a much better chance of challenging.
I'm a little disappointed that you have key players missing, we do too, but it would have been nice to see Moi-Moi versus Tasi. Almost like Master and apprentice.
Good luck, chaps!

Aye, and good luck to you too!
That's a friendly and sporting post that, mate.
Our defence has been very, very good, but, as everyone knows, we're in the Championship, so...
I reckon the initial biggest factor will be the mental side of the game. Experience versus inexperience. SL versus Champ. Etc etc. Whoever starts the better will give themselves a massive lift in this one.
But like I said earlier, if we can stay in the match, I'll be happy - because there is definitely a strong belief and excellent team spirit amongst the Leigh lads. And sometimes that is invaluable, especially in a knock-out competition.

| Good luck Leigh hope you win, you deserve rewarding for the tremendous effort put in by the club and fans over the last few years, speaking as a Wigan fan this may come back to haunt me though in the later rounds if you do win.

| Best of luck Leigh. I see no reason why you can't beat Salford today. The confidence you lot will be experiencing, the crowd will be pumped. Salford have started well in SL but missing a couple in particularly Chase, I really think they're there for the taking. You were mightily unlucky v Leeds last year. Go show SL what the league is missing.

| A depleted Leigh playing a top half SL club - should be a comfortable Salford win but ..........
