Cheers Cokey. From the picture it looks like we've got a younger version of The Witcher playing this Friday! Great!! He can beat anyone - as long as La Jeunesse Mme de Bongseur is on the controls on her PS4.

Won't make it this week but wish the lads all the best, a scalp here would really be something!

PS: Hope Joe M gets a run out (and plays a stormer).

What follows is the musing of a guy who is not a coach and as a say, I’m not a smart man.
I think Joe M plays.
I personally would play Zak H at full back as he is in my mind more affective in attack from there and can add his organizing skills to the team more also. Watching him in the Warrington friendly, against Salford and in training, he seems to see things really early in defence and attack and I saw Lachy in particular look to him a few times for a guide. I also noted in the HKR highlights that he seemed a little light in defence at centre. All that said he is a class act wherever he plays.
On a different day I would also play Ben R at centre. He is fitter and faster than ever, has sound hands, can draw a player for a winger, and imagine Zak H running off him at speed. He is also solid in defence.
Despite my musings, I will get behind whatever our coaching staff serves up. They are smarter by far than myself and play what they see in the weeks practices not what floats around my or anyone else’s heads in our down time.
Up the Leopards

As you know, Vanners, Bongser is not a coach either. Have to say that your plan does have our best place-kicker on the field of play. "Twos" will be important this year.

It's bloomin' ceauwd 'ere, mate, must be 'orrible in Canada !?

Good luck tonight Leythers in your toughest test yet bet its a great crowd.

Just a quick thought - Salford have just announced the departure of Dan Sarginson who when fit is a cracking player. Do you think Leigh will be a possible option for him if he is fit and able to play? Wakey is being touted but surely Leigh is a better option and local if he'd be of interest as a possible centre or full back option.

If he can get fit. I don’t know what host problems hanger been but he hasn’t played much for Salford. From the outside I would say he’s a pass, but I’m sure Chris Chester has a better idea of what is going on than I do!

Bongser, in response to your post regarding Joe Mellor. Yes he did play and yes, he had a stormer.

He did not pale in comparison with two of the most highly rated half backs in SL. More to the point he did not look like a man playing his first game of the season after injury. Joe was magnificent.

LancashireRed, yes, Sarginson would do for me if Leigh are interested.

We are short of a SL quality centre and Sarginson fits the bill. I hope that Leigh make a move for him. He would certainly then give us options, particularly in relation to where Hardaker plays.

At the moment, for me, Hardaker has to play centre because we do not have anyone else in the squad good enough at this level. If Sarginson was signed then he would go straight in the centres and Hardaker could be picked at full back which is, I think, his best position. It would then give us a real cutting edge from this key position and in defence he is a big tall unit and good under the high ball.

Irrespective of all this, I have always rated Sarginson and thought him to be a good player. Its not that long ago he was playing international rugby! Provided his character fits the bill then we should make a move and reunite him with Lam. It would also prevent Wakey from signing him.

I know that it is only 4 games into the season but does anyone here know how Wakey are going on this season. I have not been following their results. I do however seem to remember their chairman saying something like they should have finished top 4 last season if close results had gone their way and their then coach had been any good. Its a bit like the owners of the Titanic saying that it would have been a brilliant voyage had it not been for that damned bit of ice. Oh well, onwards and upwards - and for some, downwards.

Great Win last night Leythers Saints are in melt down.

As for Sarginson then if he is fit Leigh makes more sense than Wakefield, he lives locally so Leigh would be a great opportunity and he will give you something different to Chamberlain who for me is more a Winger. That would be great business.

Some nice posts here from other fans. Thanks for those. No chickens being counted here in Vancouver but I’m certainly looking to go buy a bit of chicken scratch just in case.
I think we have the squad and the right people in key coaching etc position to keep ahead of the bottom 3-4 pack.

The only doubt for Sarginson for me would be his recent injuries , don’t recall him making many appearances. The current Centre / Wing pairing are linking well and Kai playing his game left edge is making our left side at times unplayable. The only down side to our wingers weighing in with trys is the fact all our conversations are from the touch line …… but if that’s my only worry I’m pretty happy with that !!!

Think more depth second row or prop for me we have Chamberlain, Brand, Nesbit to cover centre. Not been overly impressed with Hughes and Holmes up to now.
