| Does anyone know when Hock and Higham will be playing again, ive not kept up with things recently ,what are the injuries? It seems Leigh are missing so many key players. Early in the season Hock was firing and people talking England call up ,but he soon faded and Mickey has got to be a great loss for most of the season being out injured? Why do Injuries take so long to get over in the modern game? if someone pulls a muscle they now seem to be out almost indefinitely. I never remember Streety being out for many games and no one took a bang as much as him.
Also I look at the ticket prices for Leigh V Wigan and I do think prices are going too high £25 for a Thursday night match, If a family goes, its just too expensive ,no wonder most Super League Stadiums are less than half full.
Thanks for replying if you do

| Would be surprised to see Clare play this season. Saw a tweet from him saying he thinks he'll be playing July, but his surgeon thinks it will be in October. Can't imagine we'd risk a player who's been out for so long in the play offs, that's why we signed Naughton.

| Thanks I think we will need them in the middle 8s,that could be a tough comp this year with possibilities of Wire being in there ,Widnes, etc I don't think anyone would want to go to HKR for the Million pound game -lets hope we finish 9th or 10th so we get the extra home game ,otherwise it could be us in that million pound game
I also notice very little updates on the main centurion site on injured players, why can't a weekly update be sent out? ,so we all know where the team is at. I didn't know Hock has had an op as ive seen nothing in the press or on the clubs website saying that, why do these things not get made public?an update once a week would be great .
Cheers John

| Why £25 for a Thursday night game you ask ?
Because it's 2017 not 1917 .... Super League RL costs money, no more than at the majority of SL Clubs.

£25 is a lot of Money to me and its hard to justify £50 for me and my Wife and travelling after work from Warrington on a Thursday night , which means I may miss the start of the game, but my thought is its better to have 10000+ at the game than 6000+ and I think a lower price would encourage that on a regular basis.
I know its not 1917, and no longer get to too many games, as my life's changed since I used to go regularly, but I did do 20 years every game home and away in the dark years when week in week out we wondered if the club would survive, I did sponsored walks to other grounds to help save the club etc so im not just someone who pops on here to cause problems, I just have an opinion like the rest of you.
I think All SL Clubs should look at pricing in relation to the amount they get in crowds. The Higher the crowd ,the better the atmosphere, the more likely you will sell more merchandise ,drinks etc ,which then brings more revenue into clubs.
I see every week on TV clubs that once had near 20000 crowds scraping 7000 if they are lucky and full stands empty on TV, because teams decide to keep them closed ,to save money ,which makes the game look like its on its backside ,which in reality at the moment, I think it is.
New rules and the quality of refs is making the game boring, teams full of muscle men with the same moves every game, wingers the size of prop forwards ,makes for a one dimensional game ,where its 4 runs up the middle and a kick which more times than not goes straight to the opposite full back or winger.
The games rules need to be made simpler to help the refs, and players need to be given more free reign by the coaches to do their own thing and put more flare into the game. In most teams I can almost tell you who is going to take the ball after the next tackle, as teams are so regimented ,Warrington comes to mind . That's why Castleford are top of the league as they are playing exciting off the cuff rugby like Leigh did in the lower division in the last few years and makes for a more exciting team and game and less penalties.
sorry for the long answer but that's how I see the game at the moment.
Cheers John

Excellent post John, the highlighted bit is the major problem the game is getting predictable and boring.

But cutting the price from £25 to £20 or even £15 wouldn't really add many more people to the gate though.

I agree Leythlg .....
& Jon_t, apologies, I was in a flippant mood rather than trying to be rude, much of what you say is true, however cutting the ticket prices would not IMO result in massive increases in attendance.

| It was very well documented pre season we would have Four premium matches, which would carry additional entry fees.
Its not as though we weren't told.

this is true,i like a lot of fans will/have paid the extra two quid, but at the time we played these teams,where/are they top four???.money is tight for a lot of people.its still at the end of the day two teams playing for eighty minutes.there was no price increase in the championship when we played the top teams.i know it happens elsewhere and in other sports, but i dont think its right, especially for parents with kids.up the comics.
