| Where will it come from ?
It just proves what 40 poor minutes at Wakefield has done to the Morale. Do we really have the mental strength to go the whole hog ?
Ill be a realist, and say the team on paper isn't good enough but everyone needs to remain positive. The team and town have fought so hard for SL status and it feels like 2005 revisited at times listening to some of the drivel on here. We wont beat everyone week in and week out !! Some team will natuarally make you look bad and every knock on and Penalty in Criminal !!
Who would have thought Salford would stuff Hull ?
Its a funny league this year. Warrington looked a shadow of the team who lost to us tonight and seem to have turned a corner. We need to remain positive throughout. Failure to do so will result in relegation!!
We have lost the games for which people would state we should win, and won some for which people state we should lose. P9 and W3 is about right and it is imperative that the team remains competitive.
Based on the last 200 mins, everyone will be thinking the first real hiding is round the corner. Super League is very unforgiving so it will be interesting to see how we respond over the easter period.

Great post!
Salford have beaten Cas and Hull yet lost to Wakey!
Deep down no one expected Leigh to be anything but bottom of the table, but they are not. Even after a few loses you are doing better than many predicted so there is a long way to go before you need to panic.
Leigh (like Salford) will have a few more surprise wins this season and not be bottom, nor relegated which surely is the aim?

| To be fair, Salford are a good team and are doing things right on and odff the field. I can see good Friday being pretty bleak for us at Leigh. Honest

| Salford are a good team and have got some consistency with there squad this year.
I didn't expect us to win more than 5 games before the 8s, the aim is to stay up we should have the players to do that, no reason to panic at this stage of the season, Wigan have gone 4 without a win!!.
One worry for me is since drinkwater got his injury we have lacked any brains on the field. Hock has gone from rampaging prop to oversized first and second receiver , soon as he went off last night Riddy suddendly began to get hold of some ball then we looked like scoring. I'm really not sure what's going on with the treatment of Riddy, taken all kicking off him, even kick offs were taking by Higham, Reynolds & McNally , Riddy did one then McNally came back on them. All seems strange to me.
I just hope DB hasn't got giddy at the thought of Hock getting in the England squad and is trying to to get him there to the detriment of the team, Hock will never play for England he's a liability SIMPLE. Also Gregg McNally should never play at this level again, I had my doubts about him in championship, that's his level get Nail Evalds in ASAP

You seem surprised that Salford lost to Wakey, Wakey currently sit in 5th and have a game in hand from 2 of the top 4. Wakey have had one bad performance this year and that's because they played soft and Leeds wanted a response from their hammering the week prior. Their game against Hull could have gone either way right until the final minute and they threw away the game against Hudds. They're a better team than people give them credit for.
As for Leigh, no doubt you'll expect to get thrashed by Salford next week, but I'm certain you'll pick up other wins as we go. I think the pressures of constant tough games is starting to show though. You've still got just over half of your season to go so it's a big ask to make the top 8 but still achievable.

You do realise that I am not a Leigh supporter? Writing in the third person and referring to LS as you, sort of gives it away.
Wakey haven't made any big strides against the better teams and are probably about to lose Hadley? back to Huddersfield. My money is on Leigh finishing above them at the end of the season.

Unless fingers are removed and tackling improves 100% next win could be in Qualifiers against 3rd place Championship!

That's the spirit Steve. I like it. I think that a part of the problem has been that Leigh have struggled mentally to live with the fans' expectation of them lately, having won three games that some thought they wouldn't before the season started. They then go into the Widnes and Catalans games with the tag of being favourites to win because of this unexpected success, and the fact that we were playing at home. Leigh then basically mess up. The two home losses are not all down to this point, I accept that, but I think they were a factor. Next stop is Salford. What's our expectation now? The likely answer is that fans think we will get hammered. So the thinking from within the Leigh camp should be 'What's to lose. Pressure's now off. No one thinks you will win. Go out and play like we know you can and cause an upset'. Salford are playing good rugby but we need to be just as hungry as Widnes and Catalans were against us to win.
If we keep working hard in training and on the pitch it will bring its own rewards in the long run. Positivity and hard work are the key.

| Get Drinkwater, Paterson, Maria and Tonga back and we won't be far off...
Problem with Vea and Tickle is they have been asked to do too many minutes for too many games and they could do with a bit of rotation.
Biggest thing for me is we need to stop faffing with the FB position. Brown is our best FB by a country mile. Would rather see AJ in centre and Hampshire on wing until Tonga is fit.
Get the spine right and the rest will sort itself out.

Despite his defensive frailties I still reckon McNally can offer the team a lot - can deffo mix the attack up

It sounds daft, but McNally is probably our best half back !!
I have never seen him play there though but he is a fantastic passer of a ball.
I agree with Brown at FB to be honest. A real solid and reliable player who takes the ball in well. It just concerns me about the severe lack of pace we have in the squad, and now that the pack is beginning to get rolled over, both defence and attack have started to suffer.
An interesting Holiday period ahead.
