| What a refreshing change for the coaches to leave the LSV and go straight to the East Lancs Rd instead of the usual stop / start trip trough Leigh & Atherton.
It took 18 minutes to get to the dip just before Whitefield - normally takes about 45 minutes. Can we do this in future Lynda for ALL trips into Yorkshire even if there is only one or two coaches going.
Hope the new system worked well - from what I saw it did - well done.

| In fairness I stopped using the coaches after the Doncaster away game this season, due to the coach becoming a public transport farce! It stopped three times on market street in atherton, again at atherleigh, our house pub, avenue, boars head, bus station, outside leigh miners then finally lsv. It is a good service and great atmosphere for fans but you get off where you get on, no excuses. When this begins to happen I will gladly use the service again.

I agree, it is a detour to return via Atherton so why do they get dropped off locally yet others from surrounding areas eg Tyldesley, Astley, Golborne etc have to get to the LSV and home themselves?

| Thought the organisation went great. Pity Odsal couldn't accommodate all the coaches together but at least those parked on the car park had a clear message to use lookin gfor blue and orange ably accompanied by Starbug. Top service

Overall yesterday went well , a bit of confusion initially loading but as most will know what's happening next time we should be a bit " slicker ' next time
The family coach went down well and with the wristbands it made things easier when the coaches were moved , as nobody tried to jump on a different one and it was easier to identify those that we needed to redirect
Finally I understand the ' drop off where you're picked up ' argument , however the LSV is not a local transport ' hub ' where fans can easily find travel home , Atherton and Leigh town centre are and we will attempt to get all future coaches to agree to drop of at them

| If your doing away with the Atherton coach pick-ups,just come out with it. Don't beat around the bush. For 40 years as I know coaches have always had en-route via Atherton..You lost 4 paying customers from me as I drove to Odsal and was in the dip just before Whitefield in 8 minutes.
What would be the point of me driving down to the LSV to get on coach? Either you pick-up at Atherton or you don't.So please clarify what the this thread is about,as everyone in it is talking in riddles...

Starbug here
We have for many years picked up in Atherton , and with 1/2 coaches it isn't really a problem , with more coaches it gets more complicated , no decision either way has been taken ATM

Of course you could get there in 8 mins direct by car. BUT by coach from the LSV is slightly different. It takes 10 minutes from leaving the LSV to leaving the Boars Head pick up.
Upto Atherton Station it is stop/start all the way with traffic lights. Then we seem to be hitting more and more traffic at the M61/M60 junction due to the Trafford Centre traffic etc.
OK - four lost customers - but I know more than four who have stopped using the coaches due to the fact that they come back that way making several stops. Also what about the fans who live in Astley, Westhoughton, Lowton, Bickershaw, Newton etc. they have to get to LSV and back. Maybe they could drop off at LSV then into the town centre.
Organising coaches is quite a task so by keeping things simple it makes it so much easier.

| Pick up at LSV, Boars Head and drop off there as well.
Start one coach at Punchbowl and down to LSV to join the others and this would drop off at Punchbowl so 3 pickups and 3 drop offs not dropping off every 200 yards.
IF the numbers were right one coach might even cover both Boarshead and Punchbowl but it's a big IF!

The idea is to get straight onto the Lancs from LSV.
Pick up points mean additional admin work - knowing who is getting on where and hoping they don't change their mind on the day.
One pick up and drop off at LSV then Bus Station I say - nice and easy.

| Well if that works for the business then fine. I'm pretty sure other sources will jump on the bandwagon in the not so distant future.

| If it's to save time then rather than change the route, why not look at the number of times we have stopped at services on the way back. The majority of the journeys are just over an hour, but on most returns we have stopped at services sometimes for 20 minutes sometimes 30 minutes depending on the how long people have to wait at KFC!!

Starbug here ( yet again )
The coaches are run by LISA on a non profit basis , just to provide the opportunity for as many Leigh fans as possible to attend away matches and support the team
Recently some venue's ( pubs ) have been running coaches of their own , LISA travel welcomes this as it makes our job of organising easier
As for drop offs and pick ups it is unlikely much will change for this year now , with a maximum of 4 away games to play and knowing where they are likely to be only 1 match will hopefully involve traveling to Yorkshire
