Well, Fax must be absolutely kicking themselves. They wont get a better chance than that to turn us over. Our discipline was poor, the amount of dropped ball was ridiculous, the attack wasn't anywhere near what we've come to expect and the defence wasn't at its best either. Our kicking game was poor (improved when Ben Reynolds came on for Riddy) and we just generally played nowhere near good enough. Fax had much more possession and in much better territory. Their pack didn't live up to the hype but they didn't need to as we just piggy backed them down the field time after time with pens and errors.

Good job Fax looked clueless in attack as we gave them more than enough opportunities in good position.

Tough game, nasty in the 2nd half and we will be picking up another couple of bans probably.

Didn't need to be that hard, we looked far better than them when we played out our sets but we played some seriously dumb stuff today at times. Winning mentality was in evidence again though and despite my criticisms we were still the better side and deserved our win.

Frustrating performance but very entertaining and that was a hell of a fight near the end.

Dixon and Wilkes were the standouts for me and Fui Fui made a big impact too.

24 wins in a row though, really impressive run. Bring on Wakey!

Nice report mate, glad you didn't include the standard "if we play like that next week we will get beat" line.

Good teams win whatever, and by however means possible.

Reading that back I should probably have given Fax more credit. I thought they defended superbly for most of the game and they made very few errors which was a massive contrast to our lads. Brought a good following too which added to the atmosphere.

Ben Johnston the fax player has just said in an interview that Fax sank to Leigh's level. Talk about deluded!

Thought defensively we were poor today while Fax were very good & managed to neutralise our attack while themselves being very difficult to tackle. Glad to see us get some repeat sets towards the end which lead to us scoring, wonder how the number of repeat sets we get compares to everyone else? However Fax did get away with slowing it right down & putting players into the tackle after it was complete & giving 2nd goes when getting up which should have been clamped down on rather than ignored by the ref.

Agreed , Leigh were nowhere near their best today but did enough to win,for me Fui looked ready to run through a brick wall , Dixon tried everything ,good games from Ryan,Pownall,Tommy G ,and I thought big Sam kept his cool , even when Bracek was reigning blows to his head in the Brawl.Acton deserved to be sent off he was counting on his fingers who to hit,Haggerty was clouted while he was on the floor ,then the Mass Brawl started ,Fax will no doubt blame Leigh, but it started with the assault on Haggerty, and that Tyrer is some wind up merchant.

It's great to get the 24 th win on the Trot,a winning mentality, final Question, will Fax ever beat Leigh?ONLY on Fantasy Island. icon_lol.gif

Sorry, but that is exactly what Leigh did as well in terms of 2nd goes, flops and generally trying to slow things down. I'm saying Fax didn't do the same, but please don't claim that we "got away with it" when your tactics were exactly the same.

Totally agree with you noz. Butt his performance cannot be justified in anyway possible today with the dumb way we played . It was unacceptable, the discipline is very very poor and MUST NOT happen again.

That would be the same Sam that kept his cool so well that he felt the need to spit at the crowd at the beginning of the second half. Well done on the win, it could have gone either way, but it's becoming a bit repetitive to always have a fracas involved when Leigh are involved - I can't remember the last time anything kicked off in a Fax game unless you were the opposition. Can you say the same in return that it's only against Fax that these sort of things happen? I think not.

We've won 24 games in a row. Plenty of them have been close matches that could have gone either way. But in the end they have all gone the same way, a Leigh win. We were shocking today and Fax could easily have won but I wouldn't say it was 'luck'. Luck balances out eventually but it takes a good team with a winning mentality to ensure you come out on top in every close encounter.

Sparky my friend , obviously I didn't see who did the spitting I didn't know anything about it,Ci agree the result could have gone either way,I didn't see Tom Armstrong alleged Butt, the Brawl was a disgrace no doubt I DO think it was a Fax player who started it though I have said Acton deserved to walk ,as did Bracek and Tyrer who in my opinion just wants ti wind folk up ,Bracek has History with Leigh player's .All in all as expected it was a very tough game ,I wasn't privy to this remark , but was told by someone sat behind RM that in the first half he kept repeating (Wind up Barlow, get him to lose his temper)obviously a hidden Fax tactic, it didn't work though.Anyway you won't have to play us again as you WONT make the middle 8.

I did see the Armstrong butt (nothing alleged about it, it happened). From what I saw, it was a Leigh player that threw the first punch (but obviously can't say what provoked it and Im not sure it landed). What happened afterwards will be sorted out by the disciplinary.

Not surprised if RM did tell the Fax players to wind Barlow up, or indeed why that would be "hidden". He could be a fine player, but imo he's a liability and can't control his temper. From what I saw, he was a real big man coming in as 3rd tackler most of the time.
