....... of people knocking everything the new BOM/BOD are trying to do regarding OUR CLUB.

For months and years people have said how poor the communication was with information regarding OUR CLUB,
For months and years people complain that a rumours happens and there is nothing but silence comes from OUR CLUB. For months and years all people seem to want is negative things from OUR CLUB.

Well i would like to say what a refreshing change it is to have people wanting to give us information regarding OUR CLUB, we have people wanting to nip the rumours in the bud before they get too twisted . . . so to all those who complain and wont come to watch OUR CLUB cause we dont play on at certain day, or wont put money in the club because of what has happened in the past, or even that you wont attend cause you dont like the DR setup.... i would like to say give the BOM/BOD a chance . . . We have had more things happening in the last few months than we have in the last few years. We have a BOM/BOD who have committed to putting funds into OUR CLUB and want the best from OUR CLUB. . . . so come on, drop the negatives and get behind OUR CLUB............. remember we nearly didnt have a club.

oh and by the way I am in no way connected to any of the BOM/BOD, I am like the rest of you a passionate LEIGH supporter of over 20 years . . . so lets get behing the BOM/BOD, Paul Rowley and of course the TEAM . . we have a 2 Tropheys to win this year.

totally agree with you mate.only trouble is some people listen to them and probably another reason crowds are down.i just over look it now because whats happening at the moment is a breath of fresh air...some of them would moan if they had to share a triple euro million rollover

Agree with both the above.

Not watching/supporting your club because of DR, because there is no P&R or because of decisions made by the RFL are lame excuses.

Then coming on here to tell people who still stump up their hard earned money to support their club of their righteousness is plain nauseating.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.....

John Roddy, Mike Norris, Steve Openshaw, Derek Beuamont, Alan Platt, Neil Wilcock, Allan Mazey and Jackie Mottershead and myself all read this board and it's posts like this that make us realise we are doing the right thing.

With our loyal fans and LISA etc we won't fail and won't give up.

However on here there's about 60 people and a small fraction who seem to want us to fail.
What we as club need to do is build the club from the bottom up , get new fans and if we are better at what we do and if our results reflect it, we may get a few of the "old" fans back but we shouldn't focus on them. Focus on getting the ground full or as full as we can .
Focus on getting the Centurions brand out everyone so people are sick of seeing it.
We have to ALL pull together not fall out with each other !!!!

I doubt that anyone wants the club to fail but communication and marketing to these 60 people isn't going to improve things, these 60 people know exactly the situation, they know when, where and who is playing, they know how much it costs, they know who is in charge, they know where to contribute their cash. These 60 people won't/can't contribute anymore so energies would be better spent elsewhere.

Yes you are right ,I know people who read but don't post.

The number of Leigh fans using this board is difficult to pinpoint, but I believe we have around 7-900 fans using the board, with about 10% ever posting.

The Communications group are actively engaged in getting the message further afield than just on this Message Board, 'reffy'. We want to use every means at our disposal to make folks aware of and involved with, our team, our club and our brand. We want more 'speccies', more sponsors, more advertisers - and, therefore more cash in our coffers.

I think you are forgetting two things.
1. As previously stated, often on this board people have complained about the lack of communication in the past.
2. Keeping the us informed will help communication to the wider public because we can spread the word and quash the tap room rumours.

I have never felt as in touch with my club since I left the UK in 1995.
So keep doing what you are doing on this forum BOM, and keep working on expending the communication into the greater potential fan base (as I am confident and trust 100% that you already are)

I'd like to add my utmost support to the new BOD. My Dad ( Mike Norris) is the reason I love rugby league and more than anything else, the Leythers and Neil Wilcock is the loudest and most passionate leyther i've ever met and would ever hope to meet. If the rest of the BOD are of the same level of enthusiasm then I am 100% sold on the new model. I wont be there next saturday, I wont be there on sunday to cheer the lads on at barrow either unfortunately. I will be cheering the lads on from a dodgy internet stream in the middle of the Bering Sea. Even though I can't make many games at the moment I am more positive now than I have been in a long long time.
