When LISA gave £15000 wednesday 2 week ago £5000 making £20000 this month shouldn't they have been given the big cheque presentation at half time I feel insulted for our members fuming is not the word

Touchdownr club have given club £5000 , why does the fans come second to corporate all the time? just an honest question?

A justifiable question imo Linda.
Isn't there a post on here somewhere,'possibly from the lisa meeting?' were its said the BOD will look after the corporate side of things but its up to the current fans to build the fan base?,perhaps this is just proving that point

I think it more likely that the touchdown club came up with the £5k unexpectably and at very short notice.

Lisa's contributions are well known to everyone on this Board and our contributions have been published already on this and the Official website.

We are LISA members because ever penny we raise is for the club and I am sure everyone knows that and our club are gratefull for that.

I am more annoyed at our players performance tonight and as soon as my glass of wine is finished I am off to sleep.

See you at Dewsbury when I hope for a response from our players.

LISA needs the publicity Lynda, I'd suggest that you might try and be as proactive as possible about it. Why not explain to the club that monies will be presented at matches, as LISA need the positive attention to garner more support? I'm sure the club can understand that.

Also, please understand that I write this with little idea of what you have tried, I don't want to offend if you've already raised the issue with the club.

I believe we need to give the club a prod on some things - there's so many balls to juggle it's going to be difficult for them to keep their eye on them all. After all, they do have a proven, dependable and committed person to rely on as LISA chair. Don't allow them to forget to appreciate LISA, but I'm sure they're not forgetting deliberately.

Lynda. You are out of order. Why the fuss over £5k? Are you for real?? Probably because it goes toward making sure the lads get paid this month.

This isn't a cock waving competition and if you paid any attention instead of fuming would have noticed we picked two SILVER members to have their picture taken presenting the cheque. None of the corporate people were on it.

If you want it be in the paper just ask.

We had a photo taken at the meeting , it's not a dig at the touchdown club , just why didn't the club use a bit of tact and invite a Lisa member to do a cheque presentation on the pitch as well.I felt as though it was personal tbh

Maybe kicking off on public forums doesn't help.

If a young kid raised £20 from washing cars and presented a cheque would you still moan?

It's not a competition.

Keep dirty washing indoors.

I didn't kick off just stated how I felt . I work very hard to put Lisa in the picture and think tactfulness is something we lack Now it was announced about our contribution and it was given publicity , great, but not quite the same as showing 1541 people what you've done, that's my point.

I agree this is not the place to have a go, but can understand Lynda's frustration but she does seem to have a dislike for the touchdown club even though she claims not to. LISA do I fantastic job ( of which I'm a member ) but how long has it been going ? In 15yrs time maybe the touchdown club will be generating the same amounts if cash for the club ? To say why the fuss over £5000 was prob not the correct thing to say as all monies raised no matter how big or little in amount will go to keeping the club alive and don't forget the touchdown club is not just corporate it has normal joe public as members too if which I'm sure a vast majority are LISA members also. Lets not bicker and fight amongst ourselves as all our aims are the same, to keep Leigh centurions alive !!!!

Well speak to the club about it Lynda.

You're Lisa Chairwoman but by moaning on here are inadvertently creating a rift on a public forum.

I find that hard to understand to be truthful.

The TDC are no more a threat to LISA as they are to North Korea. I'd like to think we're all in it together.

I've edited the title of the thread, in the cool light of day, it came out different to what I was trying to say.
Although I still feel we need to show more respect to the fans, it's a fact the corporate side of things at Leigh have always come first, as much as changing to Friday nights, which hasn't proven to be a success either.

I honestly think this is a storm in a teacup.

I can't believe there were any Leigh fans there last night who don't know about LISA and the fundraising it does for the club we all support.

We would like more members so I suppose a HT presentation of the LISA cheque for £15k rather than a tannoy announcement would have been better but I am also sure the £5k contribution from the Touchdown club was only made just before Friday's game so my opinion is what does it matter.

Everyone who saw the HT cheque presentation is appreciative of the fund raising both LISA (particularly Lynda) and the Touchdown Club do for Leigh RLFC.

For me our club needs BOTH the TDC and LISA , they are both doing a great job , though its not a Competition who can do the best , if the club had another 6 Lyndas , we would be in great shape eusa_clap.gif her hard work is so valuable, as is the work done by Alan Platt and Co eusa_clap.gif , i truly think with supporters like these 2 the Club will advance , long may they continue to support Leigh , and hopefully Work Together .
