Having visited recently, I couldn't help but notice how much they have done and are doing in their plan "Destination SL".
They seem to have had a long term plan and they are sticking to do and doing the right things, they had a lot of things in place we dont have and IMHO are in front of us now on and off the field. I reckon this season they will reach the target of 2500 average attendance too.
I know their ground isn't done as yet but you can clearly see they have started to get the work underway, so as long as the pitch is done.
I don't like this but, I think they have to be favourites.
We are a long way behind, desperately need to up our attendances and match their work in the Community and increase our fans base especially the 7-12 year olds,I noticed looking about we have a lot of teenagers older end watching us and sorry to say this but our fan base seems to be a lot of older folk.

I too commented on the 'buzz' around the stadium at Featherstone, when we were there three weeks ago, and my feeling is that they are ahead of us, in the areas you mention. Whilst we have started later on our journey, we have to all work hard in an attempt to catch up. I don't think their facilities will ever be as good as ours, but that's only one facet that 'counts'.

My fear is that, despite all our good intentions and ideas, we don't have enough bodies to bring them to fruition, and catch Fev.

I don't think any Championship side will get a licensce unless one of the current licensce holders go bust.

It needs scrapping at the end of this season just like this twinning business.

The reason so many have twinned is because relegation into Championship 1 is now viewed as oblivion.

I think its a lazy,money saving exercise.Only keighley have really come out and said we had no choice but to join the others because they were stealing an advantage against us on the field.

P&R has to return in some form or other to 'add spice' again or the game below the 'Super Dupper' men will fade away - maybe that's 'Big Plan'??

SL is a closed shop. Fev can do all they like but they will never be allowed into SL. However, Leigh, Fev, Fax, Sheff have to continue going it alone and getting stronger, otherwise the championship will be the SL reserve league. On the way home from Fev I heard JJB on Radio Leeds. He was asked for his opinion on the twinning arrangements. He said the Championship clubs will get used to it in a few years time. I assume he has been privy to discussions or conversations of the future of SL and how they intend to implement a reserve league for their players. I fear they will eventually get their way. The SL clubs don't give a damn about the game.

Well I think the main reason for that was that most people came through the same turnstyle area and when inside there was the burger van, ticket sellers, programme sellers and dancers preparing to entertain. This was a compact area so everyone was mingling and therefore created the buzz. Imagine if all the West & North stand fans came in through the same few gates and into one concourse with bars, food, TV screens etc.

It would have been a level playing field if the clubs had stayed away from this.
Also ,is it really a league of death,Oldham Rochdale, N Wales,L Scolars will have home support on a par with half a dozen clubs in this league.

Not sure about P&R mate,i think theres more chance of fev and cas joining up and Sheffield replacing London and then your in a fully fledged reserve league.

You could be right there J.C - Shoulder is now a fully broken left 'Proximal Humerus Fracture' that may need surgery - just wot I needed - a reason to 'Head South' for 8 weeks

That is a major factor at Fev. however, there was more to it than that - three primary schools in attendance, plus more spectators (ironically assisted by a significant number from Leigh) for instance. Our ground doesn't lend itself to the kind of concourse gathering that Fev's does, but I'd rather have our stadium.

Can they apply under the existing rules?

I would say they cant with there ground being as it is.

Do applications for sl membership go in at the end of this season and the decision announced half way through 2014?.

Why would we want to do that?

We have the best stadium below SL and better than almost all SL.
