I have to say that the 50 or so leythers who made the trip to Whitehaven last night must be applauded for there commitment, even more so with it being valentines, being televised and on a thursday night. Well done

There was quite a few of us last night in the George watching on TV who would have been there should the coach been able to go, gutted that I didnt get enough to take a coach, this is the first THursday night game we haven't took a coach.
I went a few year back a THursday night game in the playoffs(I think) and then we only had about 100 fans there, but bet it was great for the players to see some fans had made it.

Fool's the lot of them.

As much as i would like to have gone getting from work to haven in 2 hours was beyond me.

Just to let the OP know its the pi$$ up rather than the rugby this lot go to away games for.

If that was the case John then surely we'd have all saved a lot of time and money by just watching the game on telly?!

Eventual count got to 48 Leigh fans by my reckoning after spotting folk after the game etc! Well worth the 6 hour round trip and there's no doubt the team appreciated it.

BTW Loyal supporters dont go watching Hibs when theres a Leigh game on though eh, lights grenade and..........

We set off at 1650 and arrived at he ground at 1905, JackoLeyther did us proud sticking to his sub 2hour 15minute promise.

Coming back however, we left the ground at 2205, followed the Sat-Nav to the summit of Hardknott Pass, got stuck in the snow for a while, rolled the car backwards down the mountain in the pitch black, had a nice tour of Gosforth, Boot and a few other little villages, chased a few wild sheep about the streets of Eskdale - got a bit bored of all that, drove back to the stadium to get our bearings at about half 12, then slowly made our way home to Leigh for 0230. Then got up for work at 5. Like you do.

We left at 1.30 knowing the a66 was blocked went around the diversion no trouble and arrived in Whitehaven at around 4.30pm had a walk around the docks then parked on Coach Rd outside ground by 5.15pm had our 'butties' then went into ground to set up around 6pm all the lights were working then around 7pm off they went not all just the new stand side. Then the long cold wait for the game, the damp and cold must have affected my DVD recorders because they failed to work. After the game our Dave got his interviews etc and we sat off at the same time as the team around 10pm, thankfully the a66 was open by then we arrived home around 1am, I got to sleep around 4am after starting the video codes, up at 6am to re code the dvds back up at 8 to start copying the footage onto DVD and pen drives for the coaching staff, now sat here zombified.

The supporters in the Covered shed end made alot of noise in the first half,but by the second half i think the amount of fluid intake had taken its effect!!!
