A while back our poll man himself mr j conducted a poll on the best ground for atmosphere. I think he should now do the poll again as after last night I think a few people's minds could have been changed. I can not remember an atmosphere at Hilton park that topped last nights inside the LSV, it was absolutely bouncing, passionate and so so loud. I think LSV atmosphere gets my vote now.

Absolutely spot on. There's no way we'd have got an atmosphere like that at Hilton Park, purely because of the set up of the place - no roof on the Chaddy End and not enough space in the Tommy Sale Stand to get a bank of people like last night.

Thats the best I have heard the North stand to date. In fact, the Leigh fans were superb.

Hilton Park ? There have been times when we have played Wigan and the Tommy Sale stand and Terrace was electric. The game in 86 sticks to mind when you could not move a bloody inch. Just under 13000 on that day (more like 16000!).

Hilton Park edges it for me, but when we do play Wigan with 10k plus on, I know my answer will change !

The atmosphere was truely superb on Friday night and the North Stand looked great from were I was sat(West Stand South). I've always liked the LSV and I think its is an outstanding venue and the larger the crowd the better it is!. Hilton Park in the 1950s - 60s did used to rock and, when Wi@@n were in town the noise was deafening! There was nearly always 20000 plus crowds when we played 'them'! I used to live the other side of Marsh Playing field as kid, and, my Mother always said the it sounded like the crowd were in our garden! icon_lol.gif

the L.S.V, is a cold and impersonal place ,I much prefer Hilton park, but that having been said Fridays atmosphere was phenomenal. it will doubtless not be repeated on Sunday when all the bandwagon men have fallen off the bandwagon and we will be back to our usual 1400-1600. icon_surprised.gifops:

Hilton Park was great and memorable but times have moved on and LSV is now our home. Friday's atmosphere and game was fantastic and felt like Blackpool last year but without the rain and the score did not justify how well the lads played.

OK you will always get those who turn up every blue moon at a cup game or a final which is a shame as they are missing out on watching the rugby as well as contributiing to vital funds for the club. I am not sure what has gone on behind the scenes after reading several comments on other threads but please get behind the Club for the sake of the loyal fans and for the children of the town who are our future - Proud to be a Leyther.

Hilton Park was our home its now the LSV , atmosphere at the LSV isn't always brilliant for league games as its very hard to keep things going without any away support in a half empty stadium - that said its something as fans we need to do and if we do it will attract more in.
Would be great if we could put the away fans in the South stand each game (maybe shut off part of the north stand with taping like they do at football and move some stewards / bar staff from that area across ?).
I realise there could be a cost but I'm not sure if we closed off the extreme left side of the North Stand and opened the middle of the South stand that we would lose too much money (if any), maybe one for the forum for those that can go to ask ?

Believe it would cost more, when bearing in mind for league games quite often there's only one refreshment kiosk in the North. I think having away fans in the North would help the atmosphere more than having a few dozen of them in the South Stand, I'm sure. It's just a case of encouraging them to travel and stand together.
