Alright its a play on words and a last chance ever to have a friendly 'pop' at our Chemical friends as we go our seperate ways ,On a more serious note, farewell to Widnes and good luck in SL , I for one will miss the one game we had left that actually made me look for the fixture at the start of each season.

Steve O'Connor was sick of his team losing to Leigh. Following their latest defeat at the LSV, he secretly hired Tony Smith to do some "moonlighting" coaching at the Stobart and locked Denis Betts in a cupboard in his office. He then flew to Libya to hire a Betts body double to sit in the stands. After they went on an unbeaten run this season, only to be brought back down to earth by the 8th defeat in a row to the mighty Centurions (despite Tony Smith's secret sessions). At that point he realised no matter how much money he threw at it, they would never beat Leigh.

Looking at the table he could see that if Leigh finished 2nd and lost a tight match away at Fev in the play-offs, his beloved Widnes could possibly have made another journey to the LSV where Widnes had, in their long illustrious history, never been victorious. Seeing this nightmare scenario, the only thing he could do was pay Tony Smith off and let Betts out of the cupboard. Hence the return of the real Widnes Viking in the last couple of weeks.

Not the best team by a long way but probably the best equiped club.

Worst team ever to be promoted,no doubt the franchise fairies will be along to sprinkle there fairy dust about and tell us they are the best ever

We in this country think success on the field should decide which teams play at the top table and the decline in Championsip And NON RELEGATION LEAGUE attendances vindicates that.

Wish them all the best, all the banter between their fans and us over the years, i've grown to like them. I hope they do well in Super League, can't see it with Betts in charge, they really should go for Noble now and give him a full pre season to build a squad and coach some disciplines into the current players. If not, they're going to get slaughtered and no one wants to see that, they'e had enough punishment off us in the last few years and I wanted them to have a break from that for 3 years.

I agree with worst ever team to be promoted.I have been very upset with our teams over the last 3 years and a lot of widnes fans want Betts to go.Noble would help and goodluck in playoffs, I am routing for Leigh now.
