I have just finished reading a letter in this weeks reporter from a Leigh fan of 21 years,a lady who has stood watching Leigh in rain,snow and sun,and now says that after all those years the love affair is over as she will not support a club that allows life long members to be verbally abused and physically threatened by stewards for simply standing up despite others doing the same. she says that she was threatened by a male steward of at least 6 foot,she was featured as a child in the paper for donating her pocket money to help the club, she has she says "had enough" how sad a story is this that steward should be thoroughly ashamed of himself and should be rooted out and disciplined and made to apologise to the Lady concerned where are we heading when we let these things happens

Shame to hear that, although I must admit that if people do want to stand up then they can stand in the North Stand?

I think some of the stadium rules need addressing - the one banning photos annoys me especially when you see hundreds at Old Traford snapping away all through the game. Why is it OK at a high profile stadium but not at our little ground?

thats the problem with a hired venue, she should realise that its not the clubs fault but like a lot of others its forgotten

a steward wouldnt stop me from going to watch leigh, no chance! what the club should now do is contact this lady and apologise. The north stand stewards are ok , had no trouble with them whatso ever

No me neither Ste, the stewards have always been happy and helpful to me in the North stand and I have nowt but good to say about the ones I have interacted with .

The North Stand stewards are getting better at folding the flags up as well!

From what i'm lead to believe compact cameras are fine, its SLR ones with big lenses on them that are banned.

How can you stop supporting your club because of a steward thats ridiculous and said as much when i read it ,as Fred pointed out they are nothing to do with Leigh rugby so she should complain to the LSV and not take her frustration out on the club ,no way would i stop watching Leigh for that reason or any reason come to think of it

well I for one feel sorry for the Lady she may have felt intimidated by the Bully and it's a sad way to sever your links with the team that you love
