Quite a long time ago I asked people what they thought should go in a play about Leigh and some of you kindly responded with suggestions including of course that the 1971 Victory should feature. During my research I also spoke to the legendary Tommy Sale about the building of Hilton Park. And now the play is finished and due to be performed in just over a week. It's a promenade piece which means that the audience will walk to eight different locations around the LSV including one scene in the North Stand. It covers the history of Leigh from 1750 to 1973 (I think you can guess the significance of that date!

) and includes two scenes about Leigh RFC. As a Centurions fan myself I did try to squeeze in as many rugby references as possible as well as one performer who I think you will recognise from this message board.
So if you're interested in seeing the history of our great town brought to life and - more importantly - celebrated then please come along. It's FREE but you have to book a place as the audience groups will be limited in size. There are various times available on Friday 1st October (evening) and Saturday 2nd October (morning). It will take around two hours to walk around and although the scenes are all inside or under cover, you will need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear to walk between them.
