We've done the toughest, but what about those who showed great promise, but never reached their true potential at Leigh?
I'll start with Mick Govin and Radney Bowker and Dave Evans for our older posters.

There must be many, but Dave Evans ,i thought he was OK,stillremember him for scoring one of the BEST individual Leigh tries ,ive EVER seen,at Oldham,we had to win BOTH at Oldham and Warrington to stay up,Billy Benyon,played around 6 Scrum Halves that day.
Mike Davis, took the ball fromthe kickoff, gave it to prop Dave Evans,who ran about 70 yards,turned Oldham full back Mick Burke,inside out 2 or 3 times,and Swallow dived under the posts,Leigh won about 50odd 12, and beat Wire to stay up,Magic .

Yes, he played RL for GMP too. I saw that amazing try at Oldham and that shows the potential he had. But he didn't play for long enough - very short career - that was my point. |
