Anyone who thought this season was going to be anything other than slightly better than last has surely now realised it isnt.

Ian Millward aint no messiah and was a very lucky boy first time round because the only way was up and a decent crop of players were just about coming through at the right time and the NFP or whatever it was then was a pale imitation of the Championship as it is today.

Millward got the Stains job on the back of his father and inherited a champion side that only required minor adjustments to continue its sucess and in fairness he did keep things ticking along but it was only when a truly world class coach Anderson came along Saints really excelled with superior disapline and fitness levels.

This is his biggest challenge to date because hes inherited (with the exception of 3 or 4) a very poor championship squad that took us down last season.

Is a OAP Robbie Paul man for man any more influencial than at this level than Watson at 1st reciever on the evidence to date the answer is surely no????

John Duffy any better than Smith??????

Hartley better than Ridyard at 6???? (at least Ridyard has pace a step and is not injury prone).

The key positions are again filled by players that lack genuine pace and thats the key to the problems and has been for a few years now.

It doesnt boad well and it could be the season that puts Ian Millwards status in doubt IMO.

Anybody who expected us to be "The Kings" of this league all of a sudden, let's be honest, were kidding themselves.

Basil is a good coach, there's no denying that, but he's no miracle worker. Which of us is?

Having spoken to Basil at some length about the coming seasons (I won't go into details for obvious reasons), he recognises that the situation we are in at the moment is a big challenge, and that alot of work has to be done.

That work takes time, and when I say time, I mean alot longer than two months.

The only way that Leigh Centurions as a club can move forward, is if we all stick together and we all back the club. For years Leigh fans have wanted Basil back at Leigh, and now we've got him!

We have a great coach, and a chairman who has sunk literally millions of pounds into our club for absolutely no return.

If we want Leigh to be the "Big Club" many are convinced it should be, then now's the time to show our colours! The results and/or performances may not be what we want them to be, but if we turn our backs on on the club, then it's the beginning of the end.

Very well said. We are not going to be good any time yet as the coach obviously knows.

I think what bothered everyone at York was the seemingly endless mistakes from experienced players. Even then we lost by only a point. We seem to lack confidence which is something that may have come from last season's problems.

The only way it will improve if, as Andrew says, we are patient and stand by team.

Things take time to change.....but IMO things will come good given time. Wot a lot of people seem to forget is the IM is trying to get the lads to play new attacking and defensive patterns etc...... BUT this takes time to do, things will come good so stay behind the club as the future is bright for Leigh.

We need a big off field surge of interest to roll out on the pitch, LSV is a morgue that puts fans off at present, lets get a simple no cost bandwagon going around town, team, dream - Bradshaw must be nowhere near it though - clueless.

The roll last time happened with the MM bar before and after games, folk went on the terraces wanting it, folk met up after to discuss it, we have lost all that and we saw the £160 a year for a family to get into the bar - wood/trees stupidity.

Strategy, leadership, unity, FUN.

Agreed the slogan "Our Town, Our Team, Our Dream" should be on everything associated with the club, the Website, tickets, press releases, front of the programme, printed on the back of the t shirts the players warm up in, on the cross bar everywhere possible, it'll cost next to nothing but sends a simple clear strong message.

I cant believe some of the stuff written on here after sundays defeat,ok we were poor but we ended up losing by 1 point to a team who are tipped to win there league.When we were relegated,some fans said we would go the season undeated and win the NR Cup,now we lose and were utter garbage,clueless,abysmal etc.Robbie Paul has a bad game and he becomes public enemy number 1,who`s only interested about being on the telly.When he signed everbody kept saying its good for Leigh rugby,raising the clubs profile.I cannot believe how fickle the Leigh fans have become, if fans dont want to pay 16 pound to sit down in a fantastic stadium,maybe they should go and stand at Salford for 20 quid.Fans need to get behind there team,like at Gateshead away and Haven at home,the players responded to the support.Most fans knew that success would not happen overnight,its going to take a while,keep the faith.

Home is where you make it, I for one feel that the LSV management and The Leigh Centurions management are doing their best to work together to better the match day experience.

The reallity is that York played very well we did'nt get out of 3rd gear ,it was a pathetic performance and yet we still only lost by 1 point . If the lads had played like they did against Warrington and Wigan then the score would have been very different in our favour so when things finally come together we will be ok.At the moment some players are playing in positions they dont normally,so lets see what happens when we get back to a full squad .

Although Hilton park had cherished memories & is missed in a way it's time to move on for our new era the LSV is starting to feel home for me now slowly but surely

Dont find it a morgue personally and the people i sit with really like the LSV,are they supposed to be putting up some rugby stuff ?
