Great team effort from Leigh yesterday,thought the fullback Dollin was outstanding, can catch pigeons that lad.

this team is playing really attractive rugby which apparently starbuck does not appreciate
perhaps we should turn out our scholarsdhip lads to give other teams a chance. suprised an ex director doesnt like what they try to do "win matches". i would have thought congratulations may have helped

I spent 2 seasons watching the reserves and academy , midweek matches at Cas,keighly,Bradford,Widnes and the like even missing 1 st team SL matches going up to Whitehaven and Bradford

I very much appreciate us having a good reserve side , it is the quality of the opposition I see as the problem

Beating cannon fodder does not help you develop players good enough to step into the 1 st team

The lads can only play whats put in front of them, describing them as only being able to beat cannon fodder is disgraceful to both Leigh reserves and the opposition in general. Lets face it the confidence in the reserve team is far higher than of those in the 1st team and they have thew "winning mentality" at least try a couple of them in the 1st team, nothing ventured , nothing gained in my opinion, and besides they couldn't do any worse than the current 1st team crop could they??

He didn't mean it like that. Read it again. Not many clubs treat the reserve comp as they should.

What I did post was it is of no benifit to our reserves if other clubs only serve up cannon fodder to us

The whole point of reserve grade teams is to provide future 1 st team players , if you think differently fine that's your perogative

If the competition [ other teams ] are not going to help our team develop as players then having a reserve grade is just a waste of money in my opinion

Disagree with that if you like , but dont make up things I have not said

Trouble being Hatty is that if you do promote a player to first team level when you are battling relegation and it doesnt come off then your blasted for that, its a no win situation and hopefully it can be gotten around but I fear not, even though I do agree there are a couple in there who could at least do a bench spot occasionally, Dollin for example, he has something you can't coach and thats natural pace, a wing spot would be his for me.
