Alsteads Defence today was top notch he snuffed out several dangerous
moves near to our line by reading the plays and moving in to good effect

MacGilvary had a field day down his and Maden's wing. He did make some good tackles in the game but not enough to say his defence was top notch IMO.

not sure if this is true or not, if it is then its clearly a blooidy disgrace, alstead wll do at this level, stewart well he can bog off to which ever club would take him, not many i reckon. we won, which was the main aim today, but we did it in the usual leigh style, re giving us speccies bloody heart failures at the end, but we looked half decent in first half, then we seemed to just lose the ball on numerous occasions, AND THUS PUT OURSELVES UNDER UNDUE PRESSURE.

Alstead is a as steady a performer as they come when he's fully fit and I reckon he was brought back a bit too early after his injury.

He's always served the club admirably during his two spells and for me would always be in the team when fit.

I can't comment on the "rumour" of "showdown" talks with the directors but I'd be surprised if that was the case with Dave.

Dave was guilty of a couple of appalling high tackles, but also made some (legal) telling tackles. I too think his problem is that he is weeks behind the rest, in terms of 'match fitness'/timing. Given a couple more games, I'm sure he will be back in the groove, and 'Mr Reliable' again.

Even given his understandable lack of match fitness, you only need to look at how many times Batley scored tries on our right hand side at the LSV to see the benefit of Alstead playing there yesterday.
