I was sat in the West Stand at todays game and just behind me was some Batley fans who were quiet loud.
One of them ended up with in an altercation with one of the lads sat next door but one to me, you could tell it was getting heated by the minute, 4 stewards walked passed and looked on, never once asking both people to calm down, when the Batley fan got up, walked to the fella next to me and were nearly in eachothers face, did the stewards finally step in and do something.
I'm not having a go at the stewards but wouldnt you think that while these 2 blokes are kicking off they would have tried to stop it earlier?????

I was sat a few rows further back. When that second Batley fan came along I thought it as going to kick off big style! I don't know what the Leigh fan said to him, but it certainly sent him of on one!!

The Leigh fan seemed a bit of a disgrace TBH, was getting wound up because of Leighs performance, and not surprisingly the Batley fan was a bit giddy. The Leigh fan in question gets wound up regularly from what I have seen over the years and seems to want a good argument sometimes.
As for the stewards, for the number of em they are a waste of time, surprising how many turned up once it had all calmed down |

I cant argue that the 2 fans in question were as bad as eachother but the stewards should have tried to calm it down sooner, it was obvious that something was going to happen. What is the point of having stewards if they arent going to do their jobs, arent they their to prevent problems???? |
