Have thought long and hard about posting this. Here goes.

The fairytale season has gone a bit awry it seems! Basil comes back, and we're unbeatable (the attitude of most on here as soon as news broke of his return).

Was never going to happen in a million years, and the great start to the season we made (bar the loss at York early on) seems to have clouded everyone's judgement. Basil is a great coach, but he isn't Paul Daniels.

Let's not forget that by right we shouldn't even be in this division!

We're out of the NRC and all of a sudden it's the end of the world?!

Look at where we were this time last season, and look at where we are now. By my reckoning it's an improvement? A step forward with quite a number still to take?

So come on then, the road's become a little bumpy, and I'm waiting. Who's going to be the first to say "Millward Out!"?

Basil has no strike players and a hooker who is not good enough against the better teams.
Next season will be Basils team, I dont expect the likes of Nanyn, Donlan,Alstead, Maden, McConnell, Stanton to be taking up so much of the salary cap if any at all.
We are being read easily by any decent coach and although I have only just finished work I would guess our one move with Donlan coming in wide was easily defended against all night.The hooker moved back or sideways and never scooted, allowing Batley in our faces with a ref who didnt pull offsides.
Batley roughed us up and killed us for pace - am I far wrong?

leighs main problem is lacking pace in the backs! batley were too quick and too strong in defence. their half back was on top of his game tonight and made robbie look shyt

A young bloke asked me last season what 'I' thought about the Leigh Team. I told him we had the worst threequarter line I had ever seen represent Leigh and last nights, was even worse! I fully expected our Pack to win the game for us last night but credit goes to Batley for their individual and teams skills plus, their desire to win. I'm loath to complement Harrison has I don't like him as a person and, his arrogance when coach at Salford irritated me! The Chairmen,Directors and Supporters of Batley, I say, well done and good luck against Keighley!!

I have now watched it.
The team had no attacking ideas and a half decent team would have had the game won in the first 20 with that territory and posession.
The games against Fev and Batley have shown that a coach who knows what he is doing can get his players to defend easily against us, we are so simple to read.
Why when teams come at us do we play so flat.
Season over, dreams dead. Dont think we will survive at LSV after 2012, Crilly Park here we come.

Anyone who thought we could go from a relegation spot one season to sweeping all before them the next just becasue we have Robbie and IM really needs their bumps feeled.
We have a great team when everyone is available and fit, but no strength in depth...we are being found out at the moment...and given the state Robbie Paul was playing in, it shows we are struggling if he had to be on the field.

I remain optimistic - we are capable of getting to the GF, but a lot has to go right from now on.
It seems as fans we are over the moon if we're doing well, and then doom n gloom if we are not...the reality is in between and we're progressing.

Personally never got carried away with the good start and never went to a match thinking we would win so though i am gutted at not going to Blackpool i will get over it as will others and move on to the next game and hopefully get back to winning games ,Keithley will be fancying their chances next Sunday and if we play like last night they just may come away with the win .

Will that not be a bit late then? Semms you guys have got what we have had past few seasons where you think your on top then seems like the world has crashed after one defeat! Remember the same side got you where you are in the league a GF is a must now and in 2nd where's the worry! Just time to nuckle down and finish the season strongly!

I`m not all doom and gloom..............last night we were well beaten by a team that was better on the night, we also are having our dip in form at the mo ( prob for another few weeks also). What I meant by a few changes for next season is that Millward didn't sign the bulk of this squad ( he inherited it).... I think next season squad will be Millwards squad with the players he wants to retain and sign.
P.S. If we do our annual double over Widnes all will be forgiven....
