2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg

So Kurt Haggerty with a year left on his contract at Bradford, at the age of 27 and there hasn't been any publicity regarding any career ending injury either....has retired and joined the coaching staff at Toronto. Firstly how many coaches do they need, I make that at least 5. Secondly after Emmitts convoluted exit from the club to go take up opportunities in Australia (not sure who Swinton DR with in Oz) and subsequent signing for Toronto (avoiding a transfer fee to us), I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Haggerty is 'persuaded' out of retirement to play again (thus avoiding a transfer fee to the Bulls).

Can I say that the above is just something which has crossed my mind and has only come from my mind. He may not come out of retirement, in which case I apologise, but I find it surprising that Kurt, who loves the game so much is retiring at 27. Personally I have not been too impressed at some of the stunts being pulled by Rowley and Perez from the moment Rowley left last February.

Well;
Brian Noble is DoR
Rowley is Head Coach
Finnegan is Assistant Coach
Haggerty is Assistant Coach

Beswick is S&C Coach

Same as my club, Hull FC (Motu Tony, Radford, Last, Horne).

Not all clubs have the DoR position, but two assistants is the usual amount isn't it? I can see why TW wanted a DOR as most North American clubs will have a similar General Manager position.

Also, didn't realise Emmitt had signed for them, another decent signing at that level if true.

Not announced yet as far as I'm aware.

I suppose the task of these lads is first and foremost to get to the Championship, then to do what you did this year and earn promotion. You're probably right in that some of them won't have ambition to actually play in SL, except maybe a couple of the younger lads and the US/Canadian players they'll have in the final squad.

Sorry, not sure what point you're making.

It'll depend on their contracts. Also, it's a fairly standard thing that if a club gains promotion, they sign better players and a few of their poorer players leave. We're seeing that at Leigh right now.

Bit of a weird post that.

DGM, the point I was making there are a couple who have left fromantic Leigh who I reckon would have now had a SL contract. Even though I am convinced of the monetary influence here wouldn't you rather play in SL than 2 leagues below.

Obsessed. Get over it.

You seem to be wasting far too much time worrying about another club and their activities. You're sounding like a petulant child crying because their friend has decided to play with someone else.

Well its alot more rugby related than some of the crud put on here. If you don't like reading someones opinions and want to resort to opinions of a person rather than your own opinions of the subject, don't bother reading it. This is a messageboard and if I want to post my rugby related opinion on here then I will until I am told by the mods my presence is not welcome. Now do you want to call me any other names?

Its almost impossible to discuss rugby related stuff on here anymore.

That's the great thing about opinions, I think he's taking the P about the pathetic situation with a former coach who is obviously hacked off because Jukes succeeded in something he failed and the veil of what seems like dishonesty in how Toronto are going about their recruitment. Don't get me wrong if they never made an illegal approach directly or otherwise, or if Haggerty is never going to play again, if Emmitt doesn't sign for them or the coach didn't get sky to show them at Salford then my full apologies are given

You have given your opinion on a subject matter that certain Leigh fans are obsessed about (Toronto). I gave my opinion on what I think of certain Leigh fans thoughts, like yours in the opening post, which incessantly moan about Toronto. That should be respected.

I think people need to get over the fact that they took some of our players. It's sport. We are promoted. Move on.

Kurt also doesn't even play for us and this thread is questioning his signing as a coach. Which he is fully entitled to do.

To me, it's all a question of morals and ethics - two qualities that a certain member of the Toronto staff claims to have in spades. If you preach morals and ethics, you have to be seen to behave morally and ethically, surely? icon_wink.gif (all in my jaundiced opinion, of course!)
