Timing is everything. Amongst some uncomplimentary stuff, Sheffield chairman is also claiming in today's Eagles programme that DB said he would be ignoring the salary cap in the coming season.

The RFL do not allow signings that will take a club 'over the limit'. You cannot beat the system. FACT

Can't hep but feel sad for the way Rangi's career has gone since he left Cas.
With hindsight he made a bad decision joining Salford (although his bank balance might say otherwise!). His time there has coincided with extremely bad management and a coach out of his depth.
For a player of Rangi's ability to end up in the lower leagues before his turns 30 is such as shame.
For his sake, I hope the move works out.
I can't imagine it will be long before he is asking to leave to return to SL. However, if he is happy playing in a mostly part-time league running around amateurs then he might stay.

I can see why you're pleased with the signings but I will come back and see if you're all still delighted a couple of months into next season. It could be great or it could be a nightmare, time will tell.

Absolutely brilliant signings for our push next season. Rang will certainly bring the crowds in. I know the Super 8's have been a downer but when you think how we won the Championship and our CC run we have had a fantastic time again. The Super 8's were just one bridge too far but the experience will be invaluable for next season's challenge.

Technically players cannot sign until the registration 'window' opens again, and therefore the RFL won't know the value of his contract until then.
Depends on the pay cuts they have taken, but I would be shocked if Leigh can still be under the cap. Time will tell though, but I think Beaumont has done exactly what he said he would and is prepared to take on the RFL.

Beaumont thinks he is playing the rugby version of football manager - it appears he is signing players on past reputation rather than what they've done recently.

Sorry to lose all 3 players. Paterson is powerful, Chase in the championship will be brutal and Hansen puts his body on the line in every game.
