But I have to start to question how independent is this message board?

Sorry to pick on this post Wayne from another thread but how can someone (Alan in this case) post too early? There have been one or two other posts/threads that also appear to have gone AWOL.

I'm beginning to think that it is just a cronies forum from the Goose and the North Stand

Must admit I find that very strange and maybe there is a danger of this place losing it's independence to a certain extent, although I do think it illustrates what a powerful tool the forum can be at times.

Wayne used to be a traffic warden.

Perhaps if you could supply details of any specific threads that have been 'removed' the moderator responsible could give details, the only threads I ever removed were ones that the original poster specifically asked to be removed or that were blatant spamings or where bad language was used and then re used by 'quoters' there were a few that were merged as they were the same topic posted by different users.

Well that surprises me. I think censorship is wrong' and that people are entitled to disagree with my posts' and I am a regular poster' go in the Goose and am a North Stander.

I personally would delete nothing unless it was libellous and have said so before.

Most who read this board know who I am and although not everyone agrees with me that is up to them. Everyone should post what they think and leave it to others to agree or otherwise.

The deleting of certain threads recently may have annoyed some. When a thread is deleted or locked then that person who deleted it should say why' then we can have another thread to say you should not delete a thread unless the deleter can justify it.

But I've seen Alan questioning why his post was deleted and Wayne's response as above in the opening post, How can someones post on an independent board be removed for 'posting to early'? Isn't that what rumours are until an official confirmation is released. One or two others, think Saley also questioned a similar one which went missing.

I have no problem with you or any other of the mods, moderating bad language, name calling etc in fact it disappoints me when people spoil a good thread and you (the mods) quite rightly locking it. But Alan and Saley don't normally post in that manner.

In reply to Matt I also have no problem with the Club using this message board as a means of communication, its free its available so why not use it.

I've not been as active on here myself lately (those damn car companies trying to drag the country off its backside ) so I'm often reading after the event so as I said in the OP it may just be me.

Not to sure who thats aimed at, but seeing as you quoted me, just so you know I very rarely go in the Goose and although I will watch most games from the North, the last one I was in the Royal box, and tomorrow 'BoB' and me will be in the West.

I personally read the forum often but only really post when commenting after my opinion of a game or on future talent etc! People sometimes disagree with what I say or may even listen or agree but that's the point of this forum! Personally think mods lock threads when names are mentioned too often or slanging between posters goes on! Just cos I don't post lots I do read it lots and enjoy it! Sure the mods are just doing their job and sometimes my hectic lifestyle stops me from posting or may have no opinion to offer! But I enjoy it all the same!

I do think that the message board has become inaccessible to new users and fans, if someone has an opionion that some more seasoned fans disagree with, they get blown out of the water and don't come back.

I just think people could be more pleasant and offer opinions, rather than ranting and name calling.

Saying that, I have been pleasantly suprised with the discussion on the recent marketing strategy, with fans talking about it like adults. (although I havn't read the thread since yesterday yet)

The post was agreed with a club official. I posted it on this message board (and it's been posted on the club board and LeighLife) to give it maximum exposure to supporters - to keep them informed of what's going on.

Someone at the club requested that the post be removed, I believe, because the subject matter hadn't been fully discussed at the club. There was nothing sinister about what happened - it was mainly a matter of timing. Hence, I believe, Wayne's remark - with the 'Laughing' smily.

Ageed Saley. If it breeches no AUP then removing it against Alans wishes is akin to club sensorship and is wrong. Fred did put a fair explanation for the reason he deleted a thread the other week. The original poster had asked him to, meaning the whole thread was dead.
