One basically for Alan or Dave Parky ..........any news on "if" the matchday magazine will or will not be published this forthcoming season ?

Im sure it was in The Journal or The Reporter a couple of weeks ago that "Game On" had been scrapped and we were running our own matchday programme.
Dont take my word for it though, I may have dreamt it

| Yes, we will be publishing 'The Centurion' again this season. At the moment, I can't say what the format will be, as Dave and I are due to sit down with David Bradshaw and discuss that.
As for other clubs, it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I believe that pressure from certain clubs (e.g. Leigh, Widnes and Featherstone) was one of the factors that led the RFL to scrap 'Game On'. However, a good few clubs were delighted to have 'Game On', as it saved them the time, effort and cost of producing their own matchday magazine.
Interestingly, the RFL Operational Rules say that clubs should produce their own programmes and send two copies to the RFL - better watch what I say about them in future!!!   |

Yes two copies should be sent to the RFL. One copy marked, GENTS and the other LADIES.

I thought Game On was ok. Not better than our program of course but useful read. We complain when the RL mags/papers are dominated by SL talk, but don't appreciate a Mag that is there about our comp. Think if they put more into it then it would be good to sell as an additional read.

I agree with you there. I never saw 'Game On' as a rival, but as a welcome addition to the publicity machine for Championship RL. Any vehicle to publicise our sport, at our level has to be a good thing, surely? |

Totally agree, the only problem being people with a budget would only buy one or the other and in that respect it made "game on" your rival. |
