I'd heard that our request had already been knocked back but who know hey? Nothing would exer surprise me with the RFL.

I see Bramley Buffaloes are in their grand final again as well... it's going to be an interesting period after the play offs have finished because we've got quite a bit of support to as to not getting relegated.

Can't see Bramley getting in this time - they wouldn't have enough time to prepare for it - in 2011 perhaps?

Definitely - but of course, Skolars might play their 'overseas card' next year, and sign fifteen aged Aussies. After all, who would begrudge them a 'special dispensation', eh? icon_wink.gif

I think the salery cap should be at least-
In SL £2.500.000 or 50% of income, whichever is lowest
Champ - £800.000 or 50% of income, whichever is lowest
Champ 1 - £500.000 or 50 % of income, whichever is lowest.

Turn RL back into a truley pro sport again, and shorten the gap, so if Pro and rel are ever re instated, the jump isnt as harsh, as its the cap what makes any team going up struggle, in all leagues.

Someone asked on another thread they can't believe the clubs voted the Salary Cap in, I can quite easily.

Out of over 20 clubs, max of 5 have any hope of ever getting into SL and they have slim chances for 2012.So that is why the rest voted for the SC levels,no ambition or dreams,so why bankrupt your club, and you can't really blame them.

It typifies our country everything is geared towards the lowest denominator and excellence is seen as a dirty word. The irony is the elite competition,Super League want an even bigger SC and most of the clubs in there are already in mega debt.

Just because there is a higher salary cap doesn't mean a club have to spend up to it. They are running a business so should run it accordingly, if they bankrupt themselves then that is the fault of the people running the club. After all no one is forcing them to spend more than they can afford.

Forcing clubs to spend less generally means less quality on show, facilities deteriorate and the gap grows bigger between the Championship and SL. Oh, have I unwittingly hit on the reason for the RFL/SL willingness to put this proposal forward in the first place.

You will notice in my posts that I no longer refer to the RFL as a body. The RFL is run by the SL clubs to the disadvantage of two thirds of the member clubs. So RFLSL it is

Problem there is in Champ prob only Widnes could afford 800k and thats becuase of SO'C and I doubt ANY team in C1 could afford 500k inc Leigh!
