Oh dear what?. If you're alluding to that early tackle, it wasn't illegal. It was above the knee. The officials have totally lost the plot atm. Hurrell will be getting a 2 match ban though....did u miss that one?

I honestly cant watch the game anymore . sin bin after 41 seconds for a legit tackle , im sure this is just more gaslighting the public .
Players are also turning into footballers tyring to win penalties when a player goes near the shoulder. The great thing about rugby was the speed of the game , we are slowly turning into American football with all the breaks in play .

| Back on topic.
I am sure that Lammy, Chessy and importantly Derek will do everything possible to keep John around. Unfortunately the treatment by our own RFL and match officials will work against us, even though he came when the NRL were very unsupportive of him, memory, like a rugby career, is short.
I really hope we can keep him. Quality leader

The technique is awful and it's intended to injure the opposition player. He knew the technique is now banned and he knew doing it in his first tackle against Saints since the day that made the rules changes necessary would cause mayhem. Yet he did it anyway. The guy is an idiot and has let himself and the club down with that. The height of the tackle isn't the only consideration. He isn't looking at the ball carrier, he's just thrown his shoulder at the leg recklessly, no attempt to wrap the arms or make contact with the arms. If he keeps tackling like that, not only will he get banned a lot, he'll also break someone's leg or end someone's career. If he ever gets a standing leg, the player has absolutely no chance.

Jog on you loon. Thigh tackles don't end careers.

I highly doubt he is intentionally trying to injure anyone, his main aim is to stop a player from advancing.
There are far too many ex pros who are far more educated than you or I who are commenting that there is little of nothing wrong with it , and I wouldn’t say it’s a 50 50 split either with peoples opinions.
He has played in the NRL since 2014 and made thousands of tackles from day 1- 1 season in super league and no comments , 1 semi final and there has been nothing short of a witch hunt .
James Bell who I think is a fantastic player pretty much does the same yet little is said by saints fans who must think there lot go home and polish off their halos after a game.

Sadly Saddened, your club has lost credibility, and Saints reputation has fallen lower than a snake's belly. I'm beginning to understand more why Wigan, and Wire have this abhorrence feeling towards your club. I'm now in their thoughts.

How would we lose credibility because one of your players is a lunatic? I don't get it. Wigan fans don't hate us, beyond the derby rivalry, there is a mutual class there and Warrington fans don't like us because we're successful and they aren't. Once they win a Super League title, they won't care about us one bit.
Look at how the clubs behaved Friday. You turn up and Asiata tries to end Mata'utia's season, to prove a point after last season. Your entire bench loses their heads over a drunk fool shouting nonsense and then your coach gets in front of the microphone and cries like a baby about two correct refereeing decisions. There was clearly a gameplan to upset us by Asiata doing that and try to get one of our players sent off and it went so badly. Saints have the one drunken idiot (Sponsor from the executive box apparently) to deal with, what else did we do to disgrace ourselves so badly?

| This thread has been derailed deliberately from where it began. I suggest we ignore similar attempts by the subjects here in the future folks.

| All three post match pundits agreed that there should be no further action against Asiata for the tackle at the start of the game. Wilkin losing his head because it was "similar". But Saints can continue to froth at the mouth.
On the original topic of Asiata's future. If his injury is months rather than weeks, then the club will need a decision from him fairly quickly on whether he intends to extend his stay.
