| Well it’s happened. I’m just stunned.
My heart was pounding so hard and yes I cried at the finally whistle.
To all that were there, you sang and cheered loud and proud.
To the team, I never doubted you. At halftime I said to my son, we’ve got them, they are exhausted.
What a team, what a team.
Derek, you have your dream, and so do I.

| I was in tears at the end VL, partly for my late relations who would have been so proud. I wish I could have been there. I was thirteen at Wembley in 1971 and I thought those days were over. How wrong I was. Wembley is a lot nearer to Essex than Leigh and I so want to be there.

| I echo above. I welled up for my late dad who took me to Wembley in 1971. I will pay a special visit to is grave this week. Anyway, well done to all involved in making this happen. Thank you.

| In tears at the end of the game, in tears right now. What an unbelievable story this last 18 months has been, and we're not done yet.
Can't express it more than that right now, it's overwhelming.

| I think we need another rebrand to. Leigh Lams. How lucky are we to have the best coach and best half back in Rugby League. You 2 are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for this fantastic journey. I was there in '71 as 17year old and me and mates said it would be another 50 years. Well the God's of Rugby made us wait 2 years longer then we missed the covid restrictions on fans haha. It's all written in the stars. We're going to do the treble!!!!

| My first thought was to my dearly departed Dad Alan Fayle. He watched since he was a young boy, then in 71 his best mate scheduled his wedding on final day and asked my Dad to be best man. My Dad being the man he was, couldn’t turn him down. I was 7. We watched short snippets on a small black and white fuzzy tv in a hallway behind the reception hall. He passed 5 years ago now. The last game he saw was us beat Saints in SL, 2 weeks before he passed from cancer. He was so ill but determined to make the game, because he said we could “do’em”. I knew we could do this today and I know somewhere he and all the dearly departed Leythers were cheering us on and blowing that final kick wide.
Dare to dream Leythers.

| Well done Leigh from a Wakey fan, your defence particularly in the second half was outstanding.

| Some very heartwarming and emotional posts , what a day absolutely shattered don't think I've ever seen a performance like that 9o% completion in that 1st half yet spent it all just hanging in there after wave after wave of saints attack , phenomenal ! This truly is a club go be proud of right now enjoy the night leighers watch tomorrows game and let's empty the town in a couple of weeks for a day out in London .

Very emotional story VL. I'm sure your Dad will have been watching with you. Bless you.
