| After the signing of Sammut, this means we have Woods, Ridyard, Reynolds and Sammut for the half back positions. Are we overloaded in these positions or will Riddy now revert to Loose forward? Like other people have pointed out is there enough grunt in the forwards for our half backs to shine?

At last night's LISA meeting, apparently it was stated that there were 3/4 more signings to come. So that could still leave 2/3 - possibly forwards? Personally I rate Sammut, but was slightly surprised to see Josh re-signed. (on the basis that we had Sammut) I guess it gives us a chance to rotate haf backs and keep the 'older' ones fresh.
As for loose-forward, I reckon Addy is earmarked for that position.

I doubt Ridyard could cope with the defensive demands of playing loose forward.

| Ridy will get a testimonial and play a handful of games, any more than that and he will have improved his fitness 10 fold or we have had one hell of an injury crisis

| 4 halves = to 2 whole ones !
If we go into a game with 1 half injured we only have 1 & 1/2 , then if we get one sent off we only have 1, 1 isn't enough especially if one is not fully fit what-what leaving only one half & 1 half fit half or technically three quarters .....
It's a numbers game !

| Ryan Brierley won’t be a 5th - he’s signed for Hull KR.

Addy can cover there as well, so 25% or so of the squad can sit in there if necessary - good depth of cover there

17580.jpg First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

| 4 for me is perfect, with the range of skill and experience levels of the four taken into account. I think we may see Riddy shine with Sammut drawing defensive attention. To often Riddy has been simgled out as the threat and that wears a player down week after week. We can now spell him, and when he plays he will have better delivery to him and less defensive pressure on him. If anyone of the backs play loose it should be Reynolds for me but not as a first choice.

Cover or not, Riddy is no more a full back than he is a 13 - reckon he will be spending most of this season organising his functions, and good luck to him with that, rugby is a short career and cash in if you can

I think the two that have covered full back are Reynolds and Sammut. The only positions I've ever seen Ridyard play is Stand off and centre. The only position he can play is in the halves.

Yes he did. He was treading on treacle when running it back too if i remember !!
McNally, Reynolds and Sammut all pretty good at Full back with the latter being the choice 6 and 7 IMHO.
