What a heart-warming performance that was, once they had got used to each other. Tremendous spirit in defence, and some class combinations in attack. It makes you wonder why we haven't been producing that a lot more!

Just a word about KP. During the interval, he certainly put things right, after a frustrating first half. He has to be retained for me, if possible.

Finally the North Stand found its voice, after being a flat as the team has been for most of the season.

Eagles looked spent later on, so were easily taken apart, not to take away from some good individual performances and a fairly cohesive team performance. Mortimer stood out most for me.

Plenty of long term fan passing's have been marked before kick off with silence of applause so I found it odd that Frank's was bumbled out at half-time, about as shoddy as there being no programmes, I suspect they may have been printed but what can you say when the captain and his segment aren't at the club, the team sheet would have to be totally reworked and Purtill and another club representative have to try and muster up something to say after the disappointment of last week/the season as a whole. Hard to do seeing as everything was in flux up until Friday evening.

I hope we and Fev can maintain some good form before we (hopefully/inevitably) meet over the shield and put on a fine match.

Agree Deeks,the applause for Franks passing wasn't very organised,shame really he was a Top Bloke and a Top Leyther.His funeral is at 1.00pm at Howe Bridge Crem on 10th August followed by drinks at Leigh Miners,all are welcome.

Back to the game,we did fair good in the second half, for me Dawson was MoM,it can't be anything but a Fev v Leigh shield Final,how many in it will attract is anybodies guess.Still a wins a win today, I still say Jukesy was kept on to long,one more win and we would have finished 2nd, how did we lose a 16 point lead at home to Toulouse?

Ian, I would've definitely have attended Frank's funeral on Friday, but I am at Haydock races with a night with Paloma Faith.My thoughts and heart will sincerely go to Frank's family and friends.
