Reports on social media that Paul Rowley was fighting with a Batley fan at today’s game. The Batley fan ran down to Rowley and hit him on the back of the head and Rowley and other members of the Toronto staff retaliated, with the fracas spilling over into the family area of the stand. Not good for the sport.

Seriously, seem to recall seeing an interview featuring Rowley where he spoke of Toronto's first home game. Paraphrasing, "The crowd drifted in gradually, not knowing quite what to make of it then, after a couple of punch-ups, they were hooked."

Canada loves its Ice Hockey (and the violence thereinvolved). Toronto Wolfpack love their marketing. Did the lout Batleian have a Yorkshire accent or a North American one?

If someone attacks you no matter where or what you are doing you have a right to defend yourself

A female Toronto fan was punched in the face at the Featherstone match [source an Eye Witness] and if true the Batley fans attack on Rowley does nothing to help the game grow. Both clubs should be punished but I doubt they will.

Rowley & his minder were sat amongst the Batley supporters in the Kirkwood Hospice stand, and following another inept refereeing display comments were exchanged to the effect that in closely competitive games with the Wolfpack, only one team will get the marginal, and also the not so marginal decisions by the officials. This frustration and winding up came to a head when Rowley, who has history with Batley, was walking back to the players entrance 5 minutes before the end of the game, and was confronted by an angry elderly supporter in a Batley shirt who had followed him out. Handbags were exchanged , with Rowley pulling his earpiece out and squaring up to the elderly supporter, along with his 'minder'. So the poster believes that the incident was blown out of all proportion, justifies his claim and then, seemingly, blows it out of all proportion.
