| I think Rowley needs to be smart this year... the players looked tired towards the back end of the year. With the squad we have we can rotate the pack every week and have a fresh squad come the end of the season. We have 26 players, which makes 2 really competitive teams:
1. McNally
2. Higson / Pownall
3. Worthington / MatauI
4. Armstrong /Pala
5. Kay
6. Chase / Ridyard
7. Brierley
8. Weston / Moimoi / Spencer
9. Higham / Beswick
10. Emmitt / Acton / Hopkins
11. Hanson / Dixon
12. Paterson / Sarsfield
13. Hock / Barlow
If there were no injuries, it would be good to rotate 2 props and 2 second rowers every week

Mooky in an ideal world it would be great ,hasn't Sarsfield been released from his contract? And I've heard Pala is on his way back to France.

| Also nobody has mentioned Platt (I've not seen anything official about him leaving) or Foster. Maybe one or two may leave, and somebody else come in. (DB alluded to one more signing, last week)
I agree with the rotation principle, to keep players fresh but, as PR stated about the half backs, it's not quite that simple. He is mindful however of the need to be at our peak, come the Qualifiers - should we be good/lucky enough to get there.

You would be better off with Crop Rotation.

They are both training without clubs at the moment.
It doesn't matter who own/runs the club, the anouncement of who is leaving the club is always hidden under the carpet.

Thanks for the info. Can't see why it would be 'hidden under the carpet' though. Usually, departing players are thanked for their time at the club.

| It would be good to have a full list of arrivals/departures. I still think we are weakest in the threewuarters, forwards are good, halfs look strong, but a quality back would be my choice as a signing. I'm sure paul has learnt many valuable lessons from last year, rotation of players being one of them.

I'm just going off the sticky thread above..... so I'm not sure. It's stupid letting both Pala and Haggerty go who can both play centre

No it isn't!!! Why does Oliver Wilkes get a send off, then we know nothing about the other players? I think becuase they're got salary cap issues, they aren't announcing anything, club run ametuers? Beaumont announcing Rangi signing twice, ridiculous really, hes obviously not budgeted for him.
Lets see if this boom and bust strategy works.....

It's still normally mentioned somewhere though even if it's just tagged onto the end of another press release. I've not seen it mentioned anywhere only in rumours.
Be a shame to let Sarsfield go, could be a good player just been unlucky with injuries. Platt was playing well too before his injury. But with Pala brought in and Maitua able to play centre I can see us letting either Platt or Pala go, though I'd feel a bit sorry for Pala as he never really got a chance. Still have to pick the best we can.

| Would be nice to know for sure if Platt, Sarsfield and Pala have left. The club haven't announced anything yet. When we signed Pala DB stated that it was to cover for Platt's 'injury' and that when he was fit we'd have good competition for that position. I'm sure the squad numbers will be out soon (before the shirt is out surely) and we'll know definitely then.

GKR most fans already knew Platt has left the Club ,I've been told Sarsfield has been released from his contract, and Pala is joining Tolouse, I said a couple of weeks ago that some players would have to leave, but now the SC has been made bigger then maybe we might sign another player, maybe a centre or a winger.Although Platt, Pala, and Sarsy were decent players ,we must progress and Derek wants SL class players that obvious, and for me these 3 were not that.

Out of interest, who told you Sarsfield had been released from his contract and Pala was joining Toulouse.
I heard a rumour about Pala, but nothing else really as I haven't seen a press release or official comment form the club. Only speculation at this stage in the press.

| I think contracts normally run to 30 November? If so, maybe nothing can be announced until after that date. Mind you, most of our squad were awarded extended contracts beyond November 2015. In that case, surely nothing could be announced until any such players had negotiated a release from their contract, or have fixed up an alternative one elsewhere?
As for suggestions that there could still be salary cap issues, didn't our owner announce, that there are no longer any such issues, with the increase in the SC upper limit?
